Uruguay will be hoping the unpredictable 2026 World Cup Group H throws up another surprise today as it goes in search of a win against Spain, a pretournament favorite. 

Marcelo Bielsa's Uruguay squad has work to do after being held to unexpected draws against Saudi Arabia and Cape Verde. La Celeste is now in real danger of being eliminated in the first round of the tournament, much as they were at the 2022 World Cup.

Group leaders Spain were also held to a shock stalemate against minnows Cape Verde in their opening game, but it looked far more like tournament contenders last Sunday as they bounced back with an emphatic 4-0 win over Saudi Arabia. 

Uruguay takes on Spain in this Group H match on Friday at Guadalajara Stadium (Estadio Akron), with kickoff at 6 p.m. CST local time. That makes it an 8 p.m. ET and a 5 p.m. PT start on the East and West Coasts in the US and Canada, a 1 a.m. BST start in the UK and a 10 a.m. AEST kickoff in Australia on Saturday.

Exclusive English live broadcast rights for every World Cup 2026 match are with Fox, with games set to be shown on Fox and FS1. This Group H match will be shown on Fox.

Livestream Uruguay vs. Spain in Canada

Broadcast rights for this summer's World Cup in Canada are with Bell Media, who are set to air all matches in English on TSN and CTV, and in French on RDS. That also means coverage will be available on the TSN Plus streaming platform. 

TSN Plus is a streaming service that costs CA$8 a month and also offers coverage of PGA Tour Live golf, NFL games, F1, Nascar and the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments.
