Cloud environments are now a leading source of breach exposure, yet detection still lags behind how attacks actually unfold. Recent industry reporting shows that nearly 40% of data breaches involve data stored across multiple environments, including public cloud, while misconfigurations and compromised credentials remain among the most common initial attack vectors. At the same time, the average time to identify and contain a breach remains over 200 days, highlighting how long attackers can operate undetected.
