Blogtober 2025 - Day 1 · Matthias Ott

It’s Blogtober again. And this time, I’ve (more or less spontaneously) decided to take part in it. For those of you who don’t know what it is: Blogtober is a writing challenge that takes part every Oktober (similar to Bloguary, Blobuary, Blarch, Blapril, Blay, Blune, Bluly, Blogust, Blogtember, … 🤓), in which bloggers commit to writing and publishing a new post every day throughout the entire month. So just like Inktober for artists, Blogtober is a good excuse to start to sit down and create a little piece of work every day. The posts you publish in Blogtober don’t have to be polished or elaborate at all (I hope!), it’s more about the challenge of actually writing something every day.

There usually isn’t one fixed theme or a prompt list for Blogtober, so I will write about whatever comes to mind. There will surely be a lot of little pieces about design, development, HTML, CSS, and other web-related things. But there will probably also be posts about music, food, nature, writing, everyday observations, or anything else I find interesting or noteworthy on a given day. The primary goal is really to get into the habit of writing more regularly again – and then to keep going.

If you have questions or ideas for what I could write about, let me know, for example on Mastodon, Bluesky, or by email – I’d love to hear them! And if you happen to have a blog and are participating in Blogtober as well – or even feel inspired to jump in spontaneously – send me the URL of your site.

Happy blogging! ✍️

~
