Vectra AI
Zoey Chu · 2025-11-04 · via Vectra AI Blog

After taking a few days to adjust back to the Eastern time zone and digest the whirlwind of events that took place at Black Hat in Las Vegas, the main theme I heard in the Business Hall was curiosity around how vendors can help solve their problems. Security teams wanted honest feedback about how Vectra AI can help remove the pains from their current challenges to help ensure their organization is protected. We were able to address how Vectra AI:

Cuts through the noise and explain how our AI really works

The AI in the Vectra AI Platform is fundamentally different from the “AI” that many other NDR solutions claim to have. Instead of being a marketing label, Vectra’s AI is built on over a decade of security experience (with over 35 patents) and purpose-built machine learning models that focus on attacker behaviors—not just anomalies. Where other tools may generate noise by flagging every deviation from a baseline, Vectra’s AI understands the difference between benign network changes and true malicious activity, such as command-and-control communications, lateral movement, or data exfiltration. This behavioral focus allows security teams to see and stop real attacks faster, with high-fidelity detections that reduce false positives and alert fatigue. In short, it’s not just AI for the sake of having AI—it’s AI engineered specifically to think like an attacker and give defenders the advantage.

How the Vectra AI Platform really sees what we claim to see

A common question we received from folks is what holes the Vectra AI Platform fill in terms of visibility. At first, they didn’t fully grasp how Vectra AI covers everything from network, identity, cloud SaaS, IoT, and OT – an NDR that truly breaks down multiple attack surfaces into one giant attack surface (what we call the modern network). It is abundantly clear that modern attackers need the network in order to traverse the environment and reach their target and security teams are sensing the urgency around having the most complete modern network coverage.

How the Vectra AI Platform actually works in the broader security stack

The Vectra AI Platform is designed to meet security teams where they are, providing the customization and flexibility needed to operate effectively in real-world environments. It integrates seamlessly with existing security tools and workflows, offering flexible deployment options across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises networks with agentless deployment. Security teams can fine-tune detections, automate responses, and adapt policies to their unique risk profiles and operational priorities. As environments grow or shift, the platform scales effortlessly—whether expanding coverage to new cloud workloads, increasing visibility across remote workforces, or ingesting higher data volumes—ensuring defenders always have the visibility and control they need without adding complexity. This was highlighted throughout BlackHat live during our demos at our booth. We proved with real evidence, not empty claims on how the Vectra AI Platform truly delivers the coverage, clarity, and control security teams need to evade modern attackers.
