The Spaniard was on pole in 2023 but could only finish fourth, but the four-time IndyCar champion has three victories on his resumé already this season.
David Malukas, of Chevrolet, will also fancy his chance after finishing runner-up to Palou 12 months ago. It's the American's first Indy 500 with ECR's Team Penske and is also on the front row, along with Alexander Rossi, who won in 2016 on debut.
