Watch Italian Open 2026 live streams, as the Foro Italico in Rome welcomes the biggest names in men's and women's tennis for the final 1000 event before the French Open starts at the end of May. Defending men's champion Carlos Alcaraz is again absent through injury, while Jasmine Paolini defends her home crown in the women's event.

After Paolini's triumph last year for a first Italian winner in the women's tournament in 40 years, Jannik Sinner aims to end a half-century without a home winner in 2026. Not since Adriano Panatta in 1976 has an Italian man won this tournament and Sinner is the odds-on favorite to make history — he is gunning for a sixth Masters 1000 win in a row.

The 24-year-old has a tricky draw, though, with Jakub Menšík and the in-form Barcelona Open winner Arthur in his section. Novak Djokovic is back for the first time since Indian Wells as he seeks some form before Roland Garros. Alexander Zverev will hope to banish memories of his 56-minute destruction by Sinner in the Madrid Open final last week.

The top women's players struggled in Madrid as none of Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, Coco Gauffand Iga Świątek made it past the last eight. Hopefully the virus that swept through the Spanish capital is a thing of the past, too.

Beyond the big names, Hailey Baptiste will hope to do some damage again after she became just the second player, after Rybakina, to beat Sabalenka on tour this year, while Paolini will want to defend her crown after her career breakthrough moment 12 months ago.

The clay in Rome tends to be a bit slower than other tournaments, so expect some riveting long matches and extended points.
