How to watch Hacks season 5 online – stream FREE and from anywhere
Jakob Barnes · 2026-04-28 · via Latest from TechRadar in News

We all need a little playful comedy in our lives, and Hacks has provided just that for the past five years. With Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder's superb chemistry and hilarious jokes every episode, it'll be sad to see this show wrap up, but all good things must come to an end.

Now, we're facing the final curtain as Hacks season 5 hits our screens. Whether you've been following the sitcom from the very start, or you're just catching up, we've got you covered with all the ways you can watch Hacks online through streaming services.

Use a VPN to watch Hacks from anywhere

A VPN is a handy piece of software that can make your device appear as if it's back in your home country, thereby letting you unlock your usual streaming services (terms allowing). The best VPN right now? We recommend NordVPN – it does everything and comes with a 75% discount.

Using a VPN is incredibly simple:

1. Install the VPN of your choice. As we've said, NordVPN is our favorite.

2. Choose the location you wish to connect to in the VPN app. For instance, if you're visiting the US and want to view your usual service, you'd select a UK server from the list.

3. Sit back and enjoy the show. Head to HBO Max or your usual domestic streaming service and watch Hacks as if you were at home.

US flag

If you are in the US you're slightly ahead of the curve when it comes to watching new episodes of Hacks. The fifth season started airing in the States from April 9 and you can watch along on HBO Max if you have an active subscription to the service.

HBO Max plans start from $10.99 per month – you can also sign up via Amazon Prime, which costs the same but could be more convenient if you're a Prime member.

Away when Hacks is on? You can still access your usual streaming services from anywhere by using a VPN.

UK flag

For those of you in the UK there is a slight delay. Hacks season 5 premiered on April 17 and is releasing weekly through Sky.

You'll need to be a Sky TV customer. Packages with Sky start at £24 per month, but that can also give you access to services like HBO Max, Netflix, and Hayu.

While Hacks season 5 is airing on HBO Max in the U.S., it's exclusive to Sky Atlantic in the UK.

How to watch Hacks online in Canada

Canada flag

In Canada, Hacks is streamed by Crave. Episodes have been playing every Thursday from April 9, following the same release pattern as the US.

Crave plans start from $11.99 per month, with pricier tiers available if you want to ditch ads or bundle in other platforms like Disney+ or TSN.

Away from Canada now? Use NordVPN to watch your usual streaming service when overseas.

How to watch Hacks online in Australia

Australia flag

Hacks will go out on the Stan streaming platform in Australia. Episodes there started on Friday April 10, just a few hours behind the release in the US and Canada. New episodes drop every Friday.

Stan subscriptions cost from $12 a month for a Basic plan, with incremental increases if you want to add HD/4K quality and additional devices.

Outside Australia? Aussies away from home can use a VPN to unblock Stan and watch Hacks as they would at home.
