This Aurora GRX is a Slabside Cobra replica that was manufactured by Aurora Cars Limited of Ontario, Canada, and is #85 of approximately 170 vehicles reportedly built over a two-year production run in the early 1980s. This example underwent a refurbishment from 2020 to 2022 that involved repainting the body in red and reupholstering the interior in black, and the seller acquired it in 2022 and had an additional $15k in work completed in 2025. Power is provided by a 302ci V8 linked to a four-speed manual transmission, and equipment includes a tubular steel frame, 16″ alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, Flowmaster mufflers, chrome-finished bumperettes, wind wings, a luggage rack and suitcase, and Talbot Berlin-style mirrors. This Aurora GRX Cobra replica is now offered in California with service records, spare parts, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC.

The slabside fiberglass body was manufactured by C&C Yachts Custom Division and was refinished in red between 2020 and 2022. Reproduction Lucas headlights were mounted under current ownership along with reproduction Hayward Ford – a San Francisco Bay-area Ford dealership – license plate frames. Exterior equipment includes fender-mounted side mirrors, tubular bumpers, Cobra badging, and a luggage rack. The vintage suitcase mounted to the rack features racetrack logo stickers from tracks where Shelbys earned notable wins, and international Cobra club stickers are permanently affixed to the lower outside corners of the windshield. The front turn signals were replaced under current ownership. There is no top or tonneau cover. The power antenna does not work.

Alloy 16″ wheels wear three-eared spinners and are mounted with 205/55 Doral SDL-Sport tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs, and the front pads and rotors were replaced under current ownership. The car is equipped with rack-and-pinion steering.

The cabin was overhauled between 2020 and 2022 and features front bucket seats reupholstered in black along with a color-coordinated center console, dashboard, and door panels. The seatbelts were replaced under current ownership. A Blaupunkt AM/FM/CD stereo is fitted along with an air conditioning system, though the latter has not been tested or used under current ownership.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer as well as gauges for fuel level, voltage, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 11k miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership. The seller notes that the factory ignition switch location, which is underneath the dashboard, approximately 3″ down the steering shaft and is difficult to access.

The 302ci V8 is equipped with a Holley carburetor and Cobra-branded valve covers. Work under current ownership has included rebuilding the carburetor as well as replacing the thermostat, oil pan gasket, spark plugs, plug wires, and distributor.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Work under current ownership included replacing the transmission shaft seal and fabricating a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers. Frame damage was also repaired.

Refurbishment photos and records are shown in the gallery.

A removed set of wheels, roll bar, and additional parts are included in the sale.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage. The car has not passed a California emissions test.
