Look alive, chocolate and candy fans: Reese’s Pieces just launched its first new flavor in the U.S. in 10 years. On July 8, 2026, Reese’s Pieces announced the nationwide launch of a Chocolate Cookie Candy flavor that will be available in stores starting July 17.
I was actually able to get a bag early to try the new flavor before the official launch. After sampling the new flavor and sharing the candy with some of my colleagues in the office, here are my thoughts.
Reese’s Pieces Launches New Chocolate Cookie Candy
The Reese’s Pieces Chocolate Cookie Candy flavor has been an exclusive (and popular) product of Canada for years. And it quietly entered the United States in 2024, when it became available for purchase at Hershey’s Chocolate World. Starting June 17, shoppers across the country can finally pick up a bag without making a trip to Times Square, Canada, or the company’s website.
The new Reese’s Pieces Chocolate Cookie Candy combines the creamy and slightly salty peanut butter filling fans love with a new crunchy cookie center. Inside the candies is a thin layer of that delicious peanut butter, which coats the crispy, chocolaty cookie ball. According to the press release, this innovation comes from consumers’ desires for snacks with satisfying and unique textures. That’s exactly what this crispy, crunchy new flavor achieves.
I absolutely love the cookie center of this treat. It reminded us in the office of a Cocoa Puff, or a similar crispy cereal; it’s got an amazing crunchy texture, but isn’t too tough. (Sometimes, I find that whole peanut-filled candies are hard to chew and make me worry that I’m going to hurt a tooth.)
After I shared the candy with Mara Weinraub, our director of groceries and shopping, she could not stop coming over to my desk to get another piece. In fact, she took the whole bag home with her to eat as her movie theater snack on Friday when she sees Toy Story 5. So, she definitely found her new favorite candy. Any original Reese’s Pieces fans might be surprised to know that Mara also said this new flavor blew the OG ones out of the park.
The texture is perfectly balanced, and so is the combination of peanut butter and chocolate. Because when they combine, they make any time of the day epic. (Remember that Reese’s Puffs commercial?) My official verdict? I will definitely be stocking up on these bags once they start hitting shelves on the 17th.
