Scott Foley finally breaks his silence on the cancellation of his perfect Rotten Tomatoes series. The actor shares his honest reaction after Prime Video axed It’s Not Like That despite its strong performance.
Scott Foley reacted to the cancellation of his Prime Video series It’s Not Like That in an Instagram video. The faith-based family drama earned a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes from eight reviews. Prime Video decided not to renew the show after just one season.
Foley expressed his feelings candidly in the video posted to his followers. “I think I’m just disappointed, obviously, but I’m so grateful for the chance,” Foley said. He highlighted the show’s strong performance on the platform during its run, saying it was cancelled “after six or so weeks in Prime Video’s Top 10, and I think getting as high as like three or four, really great reviews.”
The actor also shared his pride in the project and his affection for his collaborators. “I got to make a show I’m so proud of with people I grew to like a lot,” Foley stated. He acknowledged the finality of the decision for both the cast and the audience. “Now we don’t get to make it anymore, and you don’t get to watch it,” he continued.
Foley then turned his attention to thanking viewers who supported the series. “I wanted to thank everybody who took the time to check it out, whether you found it on your own, whether it was a recommendation you saw on social media,” he said. The actor also encouraged new viewers to stream the show, noting it remains available on Prime Video.
The 53-year-old closed his message with a tribute to his fellow cast and crew members. “I loved making this show with you, and I would work with you again and again and again,” Foley said. The series features Foley as Malcolm, a widowed pastor, opposite Erinn Hayes as Lori, a recently divorced mother. Additionally, it stars J.R. Ramirez, Caleb Baumann, Cary Christopher, and Leven Miranda in supporting roles.
