Slayr, the Philadelphia rapper who’s been making a name for himself in the underground hip-hop scene, is gearing up to release a new EP this Friday. It’s called Avant Nova, perhaps in connection to another project he’s been teasing titled Fabula Nova. The EP’s opening track, “Promise,” features production from Underscores. Avant Nova comes out the same day as new records by Slayr’s rage-rap predecessor Ken Carson and trap superior Future. The 19-year-old rapper spent the past few months leveling up his own game, though, with performances at Rolling Loud Orlando and Summer Smash, and plans to kick off his first North American headlining tour this August. Slayr dropped his seventh mixtape, Half Blood, this past November. It was re-released in March as the expanded edition BloodLuxe, boasting 10 new songs. For those tracks, Slayr roped in a number of producers including Prettifun, 808toofly, Jackwya, M8I, Waera, Doxxmade, Kay Boba, and Marek.
