Analysts at Malwarebytes identified and examined one such site, noting how convincing the experience is built to feel.

According to Malwarebytes report shared with Cyber Security News (CSN), after a user sends the cryptocurrency payment, they are instructed to enter their transaction ID to “unlock” the download.

The page shows QR codes, payment verification messages, and a large DOWNLOAD button, but no game ever arrives.
