Today the Wiz executive team expands as we officially welcome its newest member: Fazal Merchant, who joins as CFO & President.  

2024 brought so many landmark moments for Wiz: raising $1 billion dollars, acquiring Gem Security and Dazz, and of course becoming a multi-product company with the launches of Wiz Code and Wiz Defend. The common thread connecting these milestones is, as always, the imperative to unlock ever more value and solve the most pressing security challenges of our customers, who now include 45% of the Fortune 100.  

That Wiz just closed our strongest quarter yet is testament to our unwavering commitment to that mission and unmatched ability to execute. As we approach Wiz’s 5th birthday I'm endlessly grateful for how far we’ve come, and beyond excited for what we have yet to accomplish. 

We have achieved so much so fast thanks to the amazing work of many Wizards, both old and new, who make this company what it is today. I can’t think of a better way to reward their tireless efforts than by bringing on someone of Fazal’s caliber to step into a role that is pivotal to our long-term success.  

As CFO & President, he will up-level our business with strategies and processes to help us mature and seize the opportunity that lies before us. With Fazal on board, the team will be better positioned than ever to navigate the road ahead while continuing to innovate on behalf of our customers.  

Fazal and I have been speaking for the better part of a year about potentially joining Wiz. Those conversations cemented my conviction that he is the perfect addition. He is experienced in growing and scaling both public and private companies, with leadership positions that span iconic brands like DreamWorks to industry pioneers like endpoint security leader Tanium. Equally important is that fact that Fazal embodies the company values which form our cultural core and ensure we all uphold principles of excellence, truthfulness, humility, leadership, and togetherness.  

A massive thank you to the customers, employees, partners, and investors who enable Wiz to make magic. While I won’t share predictions for the coming year just yet, I promise you all that 2025 will bring more incredible milestones.
