Wiz Receives 2023 Global Cloud Security Entrepreneurial Company of the Year Award
Raaz Herzberg · 2023-05-19 · via Wiz Blog | RSS feed

On the heels of our inclusion on the annual CNBC Disruptor 50 list, where Wiz debuted at #5, Frost & Sullivan has named us its 2023 Global Cloud Security Entrepreneurial Company of the Year

Both recognitions identify star players of the technology ecosystem, as determined by leading innovators and customer impact. Frost & Sullivan determines winners through a rigorous analysis across categories like market disruption, competitive differentiation, market gaps, customer experience, brand equity, and price/performance value.

Wiz has disrupted the traditional agent-based cloud security model with its agentless and API-centered CNAPP, focusing on cloud risks from multiple risk factors that can lead to an attack. As demand for integrated cloud security solutions has soared, it’s no surprise that Wiz has distanced itself from the competition with its graph-based approach and deep ability to identify exposure.

Anh Tien Vu, industry principal at Frost & Sullivan

While we are always thrilled to receive recognition from the industry, the primary takeaways here center on customer value. As Frost & Sullivan writes, “Companies worldwide are moving to the cloud as part of their digital transformation journey, with cloud and cloud-native technologies considered the key tools and essential parts of their strategies. The stronger adoption of cloud services, however, has caused the attack surface in the cloud environment to expand and become more complex, making it difficult for organizations to enforce and manage security policies and practices.”

These market headwinds spurred the Wiz team to pioneer a new approach to cloud security and build what has become the industry-leading CNAPP—a term that has become synonymous with what it delivers: consolidation, visibility, and a way for cloud security teams to harness the power of the cloud to drive their business forward and collaborate with development colleagues.

It’s an honor to be recognized by Frost & Sullivan. Thank you to the entire team for recognizing the transformative power of Wiz to help businesses embrace the cloud securely by continuously identifying and reducing associated risks. As organizations turn to the cloud worldwide, Wiz's scalable technology protects their cloud environments. We are 100% committed to making these businesses successful and maximizing their value.

The award from Frost & Sullivan is the latest of several significant milestones Wiz achieved over the last 12 months. In addition to launching new products like Data Security Posture Management (DSPM), Wiz now counts 35% of the Fortune 100 among our customer base. We were also rated the #1 cloud security platform in the world and the top security product, according to more than 300 customer reviews on G2. To quote the author of Frost & Sullivan’s report:

Wiz stands out from competitors by offering a comprehensive CNAPP that is built from the ground up with a single data layer, risk engine, UI, policy framework, and prioritization queue. Wiz is the first cloud security vendor to integrate Data Security Posture Management to prevent issues from becoming data breaches.

Anh Tien Vu, industry principal at Frost & Sullivan

Much like after the news of our latest funding round earlier this year—which cemented our status as the fastest-growing cybersecurity start-up ever—we are celebrating this award as a pivotal moment in our growth trajectory while maintaining focus on what lies ahead. As our CEO Assaf Rappaport wrote, “The rapid growth of Wiz is a measure of the value we deliver to our customers. We’re committed to the fast-paced innovation that led us so far, and the expansion of the platform to secure cloud environments from code to runtime.”
