PostgreSQL 18 is now available on PlanetScale for Postgres. You can select PostgreSQL 18 when creating a new Postgres database. Existing databases on PostgreSQL 17 remain fully supported.
Note: We don't currently offer an automated in-place upgrade from PostgreSQL 17 to 18. To upgrade, create a new PostgreSQL 18 database and perform an online migration from your existing PlanetScale PostgreSQL 17 database using our import guides.
