FALSE ALARM: I'm very sorry, but I now realize that this issue is actually a non-issue. I'm very sorry! Please check my message #3 in this thread for an explanation.
When running pacman -Syu, I repeatedly get shown 184 extra/haskell packages that are listed as needing upgrade. I allow them to be upgraded, they are shown to indeed be upgraded, but the next time I run pacman -Syu, these haskell packages keep getting shown to me as needing upgrade. Apparently, they never get upgraded.
I put IgnorePkg = haskell* into /etc/pacman.conf, and then these 184 haskell packages get listed in warnings that they are being ignored.
However, it's annoying that I always have to view this mass quantity of warnings and that these haskell packages never get upgraded in the first place if I don't ignore them. How can I make sure that these packages do indeed get properly upgraded.
And to be clear, this not-getting-properly-upgraded behavior only occurs with these haskell packages. All other packages which need upgrade always get properly upgraded by pacman -Syu.
