Does the Arch Linux forum login had been out of service ?

Yesterday, and I think in Monday, I notice that when I entered my password I was denied access. I'm 100%  sure that I entered the password correctly.  The page sent the default incorrect password message basically, when it was correct.

The most interesting thing is that the issue solved after reset the browser basically. But this beheavior sound strange to me, not sure if firejailed browser plus wayland causes the issue, or those days the login function of the web page was like acting weird sometimes.  Anyone having that issue also ?

Thanks for the links. Seems to be that the case. Glad that others had posted the same issue from different parts of the world. Most probably is the DDOS :C

Re: Does the Arch Linux forum login had been out of service ?

Maybe you should go to the index page, then back to the login page.

Got the same issue going from the index to the login page, starting at the login page directly worked, the error message was:

Bad CSRF hash. You were referred to this page from an unauthorized source.

I'm french, sorry for any mistakes in english.

Ditto for the past day or so until just a few minutes ago.

Browser-agnostic... Brave, Chromium, and FF affected.

Re: Does the Arch Linux forum login had been out of service ?

What can I tell you is the following:

1) I don't have like extreme slow internet. Like I get the forum login approved like in less than a second, maybe two in like worst peak internet day ever, but is more like just a second each day or less after I put the user and psswd. I guess I'm making queries to São Paulo since I'm from Chile tongue

2) Sometimes is like I had made like 3 or 4 attempts to access my account and failed constantly. That obviously is more than the 10 seconds of the lock_timeout that is defined in the nginx conf, so maybe the first query get dropped out during my 4 attempts, but I still making the other ones and failing. It seems that the only solution is to open the browser again, or going into index page and then go back to login page. I believe I made  that also in one occasion and worked. Seems more like the login get soft-locked to the users itself in my opinion, because if you try to reestablish connection with the login again by going back  to main or closing browser [Which I guess close all connections to make them again] the soft-locking solves. I guess is something about the caching and related to nginx, but what I'm saying that it seems that some users get soft-locked  by previous connections, and you can get out of it if you do the previous steps mentioned.

3) Today I enter nicely in just one attempt ^^

4) Hope this info helps to you and the team <3

I'm not going to add noise to the MR, but yet again couldn't log in all morning via any browser.

If a mod could please move this thread from "Off-Topic" to "Forum & Wiki discussion" it would serve two purposes:

1) It would be on-topic
2) It would be visible when unable to log in. This sub-forum is not.

Re: Does the Arch Linux forum login had been out of service ?

Yesterday I have the issue once. Now today recently have it like many times before I was able to enter the forum. I needed to just restart the browser again.   Deleting cache or going back to home page of Arch Linux didn't help at all this time :C

Re: Does the Arch Linux forum login had been out of service ?

I've had it today for the first time.
restarting browser (FF) didn't help, tried a 2nd time and first went to archlinux.org .

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?

Re: Does the Arch Linux forum login had been out of service ?

Today I have it again, but it was worse. Like closing and opening the browser didn't worked, it took me a while to log in. So I'm just writing to let you know, now I think is 100% not involving the browser. So hope this info helps in the troubleshooting.

Re: Does the Arch Linux forum login had been out of service ?

I have been getting the same errors for weeks now, some days worse than other.
My browser cleans all history, cookies and cache and shutdown. ( for years now )
Even my computer cache directory is deleted on shutdown. ( for years now )
Problem is likely NOT browser releated.

Re: Does the Arch Linux forum login had been out of service ?

For everybody experiencing the problem around now: it’s not a client issue. The CSRF token provided by the server is invalid: it already arrives wrong to the browser. It seems it resends the same token multiple times, so the guess about broken caching is also what I suggested earlier in #archlinux-devops.

You can verify that by observing the traffic from the server.

Re: Does the Arch Linux forum login had been out of service ?

Today I get the issue a lot. Yesterday was like starting to happen again. I was like two weeks like without the issue I think, or at least one.

Hope this can help in a way that I can't see. But in the last two days as for me the issue is starting to get frequently again.
