Githipedia – The Wiki for GitHub
Vendeta · 2026-06-15 · via HN's home page

Greetings and salutations, everyone!

As a fellow developer, I have a question for you: were you ever tired of searching through tens or hundreds of blogs, forums, and official documentations scattered around the internet, just to find one particular thing about GitHub? Think about the hours spent in vain, time you could've used for something far more useful. For that question, I come with your solution: Githipedia!

What is our goal? To create one singular space (a.k.a. repository) where everything about GitHub is presented clearly and usefully using Markdown files. Everything here is under the MIT license, so you can fork, share, and help make it better. There's no need to worry about overly complicated terminology. It's simple, direct, and helpful, whether you're new to GitHub or not.

What is our slogan? "We are not a community; we are a home." There's no need to worry about making mistakes or pointing them out. We are more than happy to help and fix things together, like a family. At the end of the day, we are developers, united in purpose, and for the greater good of technology.

Did we catch your attention? Why don't you take a few minutes to explore this space? In just 5 MINUTES you can investigate: - The guides section where you can read and learn how to achieve total profile mastery or how to get certain achievements; - The programs section where you can understand how GitHub helps users automate certain actions such as "GitHub Rescope" found within this project. - How Markdown files work so you can create beautiful pages like this one; - And many more are waiting to be discovered! Now that you know how easy it is to access it, go and take a look!

How can you join? Githipedia is mainly on GitHub at https://github.com/Vendetaaaa/Githipedia. There you can: - Read the documentation; - Contribute; - LIMITED SPOTS: become part of the admin team! (for further information, message me on GitHub: Vendetaaaa)

Now, it is up to you to support or not. Either way, I thank you for the patience and interest poured into this project!

Have a good day! :D
