Listen to all episodes below.

Meet the host: Doug Herrington

Doug Herrington has served as CEO of Worldwide Amazon Stores since July 2022. In this role, he leads numerous businesses, including Amazon’s online and mobile shopping experiences worldwide, global operations and fulfillment, Prime, Amazon Grocery, Amazon Business, Selling Partner Services, and Amazon Health Services. He joined Amazon in 2005 to launch the Amazon consumables business. Herrington is passionate about building, innovating, and all things grocery. In his time as CEO, he’s visited nearly 200 Amazon Operations sites. When he's not podcasting, you might find him out rucking, reading a good book (on everything from leadership to gritty westerns), or spending time with his dog Arno.

Episode 5: How Amazon keeps prices low

How does Amazon ensure customers are getting the best price across hundreds of millions of products? In this episode, Doug Herrington sits down with Christa Glenn, VP of Worldwide Pricing and Promotions, to explore the philosophy and mechanics behind Amazon's approach to pricing—including why the team is structured to deliver low prices rather than maximize profit. They also dig into the evolution of Prime Day and share how they're each using AI in their roles.

Episode 4: Operating at Amazon

In this episode of the Learn and Be Curiouswith Doug Herrington podcast, Herrington sits down with Alessandro Carbone—an Amazon general manager who traded his law career in Italy for operations leadership and never looked back. Now running a 665,000-square-foot fulfillment center with 3,000 associates and millions of products, Carbone shares what it means to lead like a mayor of a small Italian town, why a clean floor is a safety strategy, and how he thinks about flowing a building like a river. They also discuss the magic of getting millions of items to your door by morning, and why stepping outside your comfort zone is the best career advice he's ever followed. Read more about what an Amazon GM actually does all day.

Episode 3: Growing Amazon Grocery

How does Amazon get fresh groceries to your door in just hours? Doug Herrington sits down with Sidira Sisich, a senior product manager on the Amazon Grocery team, to talk about how Amazon integrated fresh produce, meat, dairy, and more into its Operations network. They dig into why simply telling teams to "move faster" doesn't work, the thrill of "zero-to-one innovations," and an old project called Amazon Wine.

Episode 2: An inside look at how Amazon keeps getting faster

Over the past three years, Amazon has hit record-breaking delivery speeds—and our customers are loving it. From what toilet paper taught us about delivery speed to innovations bringing faster delivery for all kinds of products in cities and rural communities alike. Doug Herrington sits down with Kandace Kapps, a director in Same-Day Ops Integration, to explore how Amazon continues to get faster—and safer. They also discuss Kapps’ career path at Amazon, the importance of betting on yourself, practicing service-oriented leadership, and Amazon’s famed Treasure Truck.

Episode 1: Can Amazon make prescriptions easier?

Amazon is reinventing healthcare by delivering prescriptions to customers' doorsteps and through kiosks. Doug Herrington sits down with Hannah McClellan, VP of Amazon Pharmacy Operations, to explore how Amazon Pharmacy works, what problems it solves, and why Amazon believes it can improve a frustrating part of healthcare. They also discuss McClellan's career path, her advice for employees navigating big career moves, and what Herrington learned from Jeff Bezos about building company culture.
