AI Can Finally Help You Train Your Padel Wall Game With PONGBOT's Aura S
Alex Barrientos · 2026-06-18 · via Gadget Review

Thirty million people play padel worldwide. The sport has its own pro tour, its own stadiums, its own culture. It is the fastest-growing racket sport on the planet, and it isn’t close.

But no ball machine has ever been designed around how padel is actually played. Tennis machines get dragged onto padel courts and adjusted as best they can. They fire on a timer. They don’t understand the wall. They can’t replicate the rebounds that define how the game moves at any competitive level. PONGBOT, the company behind the most-funded tennis ball machine in Kickstarter history, built the Aura to change that.

The Wall Game Has Always Been Impossible to Train Alone

Every serious padel player knows what separates the levels. It’s the back glass. Reading the rebound, adjusting your position for a ball that changes direction and pace after the bounce, and executing a clean shot from a compromised position. These are the skills that take the longest to develop and the hardest to train without consistent, accurate ball delivery.

Most hitting partners can’t place the ball accurately enough to produce the same rebound twice in a row. So you face it in matches, you get it wrong, you move on, and the weakness stays because there’s never been a reliable way to drill it out of your game.

In padel mode, the Aura’s wheel track and feed mechanism physically reconfigure for the padel ball, calibrated to simulate authentic side-wall and back-wall rebound trajectories. The ball behaves the way it would after hitting the glass in a real point: the speed change, the angle shift, the spin variation. You get the same read over and over until your feet know where to go before your eyes have finished processing.

The Recovery Trigger Enforces What Most Drills Skip

Padel points are built on recovery. The wall game forces constant repositioning. You play a ball off the back glass, recover to center, read the next shot, and repeat. The timing of that cycle is what separates controlled play from scrambling.

The Aura’s Recovery Trigger detects when you’ve returned to your recovery position before releasing the next ball. The machine doesn’t fire until you’re back in position. Most solo drills skip the recovery entirely because there’s no mechanism to enforce it. The Aura builds it into every single rep by design, and combined with the wall rebound simulation, it creates a training loop that mirrors real padel more closely than anything available outside a fully coached session.

Call Your Shot. The Aura Executes It.

The Aura is powered by a large language model, which means you control it the way you’d talk to a hitting partner. Say “give me a back-wall ball to my backhand with heavy topspin” and it executes. Say “faster, more angle” and it adjusts. No menus, no stopping to change settings, no breaking the rhythm of the session.

It works through Bluetooth earphones and Apple Watch, so your hands stay on the racket and your feet keep moving. For players who self-coach through practice, that kind of real-time control changes the quality of every rep.

The Aura S and the Spotter: See Your Wall Game Like You Never Have

The Aura comes in two configurations. The base Aura is a powerful standalone training machine. The Aura S includes the Spotter, a modular camera system that unlocks the full suite of AI capabilities including voice interaction, video upload, match replication, and motion analysis.

The wall read happens fast. Your positioning, your racket angle, and your footwork on the approach all happen in under a second, and most players have no clear picture of what their mechanics actually look like on those shots. During sessions, the Spotter covers the full court at 120 frames per second, watches your stroke from preparation through contact and follow-through, catches where your footwork is shortening or your contact point is drifting on the wall ball, and tells you through your earpiece or Apple Watch before the next one arrives.

After the session, it generates a full report covering shot distribution across the court, movement patterns, mechanical analysis, and video breakdowns of exactly how you’re handling the wall game under pressure. Most padel players have never seen their own game at that level of detail.

Train Against the Patterns That Are Beating You

Upload footage of an opponent or a professional match, and the Aura analyzes the shot patterns, landing zones, wall angles, speed, and spin, then replicates those sequences on court. If there’s a player in your club whose back-wall game consistently puts you in a difficult position and you have footage of them playing, you can build a drill around exactly those patterns.

You show up to the next match having already practiced against what you know is coming. Not studied it. Practiced it.

1,000 Drills… And Then You Can Build Your Own.

The Aura ships with over 1,000 built-in padel drills covering every skill level and shot type: wall play, volleys, lobs, bandeja preparation, and full-court patterns that mirror real match sequences. The visual drill builder in the app lets you design your own sequences, dragging shot placement, setting spin, speed, and timing for each individual ball, and sharing finished drills with a global community of over 200,000 players. The catalog keeps growing after you buy the machine.

Built for the Way Padel Clubs Actually Work

Most padel is played at clubs with enclosed indoor courts and centralised equipment storage. You don’t carry a machine across a car park to an outdoor court — you bring it down a corridor and set it up in minutes. It’s also light (~15 lbs) and has a battery that can run upwards of five hours (plus, it’s hot-swappable and rechargeable). Best of all, the foldable ball basket holds 120 balls, so you won’t have to constantly go over and refill it. It lives comfortably in a club locker or equipment room and is ready whenever you’ve booked court time.

For players who train across multiple clubs or travel for tournaments, the same portability that works in a club setting works just as well on the road.

Act Before July Ends

From June 15 through July 31, the Aura S is $150 off with promo code PRIME26. During Prime Day, June 20 through June 30, spin-the-wheel coupons offer between $100 and $500 off on orders over $1,000, and the first 100 customers to purchase will receive a water bottle. The Court Essentials Kit, a towel, cap, and wristbands, is included with any bundle purchase during the promotional period.

The Aura S is available now through the PONGBOT Kickstarter campaign. For padel players who have spent years making do with machines that were never designed for the wall game, the Aura S was built specifically for the way this sport is actually played.
