Detroit Pistons Head coach J.B. Bickerstaff

Beyond the fact that the Detroit Pistons are now tied up at 2-2 in the second round against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the team is looking at a concerning injury report before Game 5 on Wednesday, May 13.

The Kevin Huerter injury remains a concern for Detroit. The veteran sharpshooter is questionable with a left adductor strain. He hasn’t seen the court since the Pistons’ first-round series against the Orlando Magic.

The last time the Pistons had a chance to roll Huerter out was during the April 27 matchup, which served as Game 4. Huerter appeared on the court for just two minutes in the 94-88 loss.

Detroit Pistons shooter Kevin Hueter got upgraded on the injury report to questionable after missing many games.

Huerter missed the final three games of the series. The Pistons also missed him for the first four games against the Cavs, and Wednesday will serve as five if Huerter still can’t get cleared for action.

This season, Huerter started the year with the Chicago Bulls. He averaged 10.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in Chicago. At the trade deadline, the Pistons picked up Huerter in the Jaden Ivey deal. He appeared in 25 games, putting up 8.6 points per game, while shooting 44.3% from the field.

The Pistons Are Losing Momentum

Everything was going great for the Pistons at the start of the second round.

After grinding out a tough seven-game series against the Magic, the Pistons picked up two comfortable wins at home against the Cavs. Cleveland stole the momentum by firing off two wins at home, and now the Pistons no longer have a leg up with the lead.

And on top of the Huerter injury, the Pistons have two more players that could miss Game 5. The veteran guard Caris LeVert is listed as questionable due to a right heel contusion. Duncan Robinson was the latest addition. He is questionable because of lower back soreness.

Game 5 is set for an 8 PM ET tip on Wednesday.
