The Phoenix Suns were the first team to get eliminated from the 2026 NBA Playoffs. They were swept by the defending NBA champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder, on Monday’s Game 4 in Phoenix.

The Suns kept it competitive the entire night, with Devin Booker scoring 24 points and dishing out six assists. Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks both had 23 points, while Collin Gillespie had his best game of the series, finishing with 20 points.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a game-high 31 points in the Thunder’s 131-122 win. Chet Holmgren contributed 24 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and two steals, while Ajay Mitchell filled in for Jalen Williams with 22 points, four rebounds and six dimes.

The Thunder will face either the Los Angeles Lakers or Houston Rockets in the second round.

Jalen Green Reveals His Offseason Plans

Speaking to reporters after Game 4, Jalen Green was asked about his first season in Phoenix and what are his plans for the summer. Green wants to focus on his game and his body. He would love to ensure his health after an injury-filled campaign.

“The weight room is probably where I’m going to spend a lot of my time,” Green said. “Obviously, the gym is always going to be where I’m going to be at, but just due to the injuries, get my program together and try to come into next year without any injuries.”

The former No. 2 pick added, “I feel like every summer is you double down on the work of what you could do better. You watch the season back and look at how things played out and areas you could improve in.”

In his first season with the Suns, Green averaged 17.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.1 steals in 32 games. He was limited due to multiple injuries, though he was a monster in the NBA Play-In Tournament.

Green put up 35.5 points in the Suns’ two play-in games against the Portland Trail Blazers and Golden State Warriors. He struggled with his shooting in the first round, but he still averaged 21.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals.

Injuries Slowed Down Jalen Green This Season

The Suns acquired Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and Khaman Maluach this past summer from the Houston Rockets in exchange for Kevin Durant. They also received Koby Brea and Rasheer Fleming as part of a larger seven-team trade.

Green endured a bunch of muscle-related injuries, while Brooks had his breakout year at the age of 30.

There was plenty of hope for Green to establish himself alongside Devin Booker. However, he suffered a right hamstring strain in training camp. It was a minor injury at the time, but he aggravated it during practice before the Suns’ preseason game against the Brooklyn Nets in Macau.

Green ended up missing the first eight games of the season. He managed to play two games before re-injuring his right hamstring against the Los Angeles Clippers. He missed 33 consecutive games. Right knee soreness also kept him out in the last two games of the regular season.
