The Golden State Warriors failed to make the playoffs this season after falling short in the NBA Play-In Tournament.

Injuries and inconsistencies ravaged the Warriors this season, with Steph Curry missing 39 games due to runner’s knee. Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody suffered season-ending knee injuries, while Draymond Green showed more signs of decline and aging.

The Warriors are also at a crossroads with coach Steve Kerr, who is expected to discuss his future with the franchise soon.

Speaking on Wednesday’s episode of Inside The NBA, Draymond Green was in the studio to fill in for Shaquille O’Neal.

The crew discussed the future of the Warriors, with Charles Barkley dropping a harsh reality on what’s in store for them.

“It’s over for the Warriors,” Barkley said, via BasketNews. “No disrespect. It ends for every old team. You had your run, you get old, you let Klay (Thompson) go. You and Steph are on the backside of your careers. It just passed you by. Y’all had one of the greatest runs ever. You think you’re gonna get healthier for next year? You’re just gonna get older.”

Barkley then urged Curry and Draymond to leave Golden State if they want to compete for another title.

“That’s no disrespect, you guys had one of the greatest runs of all time,” Barkley said. “If you want to compete, you’re gonna have to leave there. If Steph wants to compete, he’s gonna have to leave there. You’re gonna have to make that decision.”

Green will indeed have to make a decision since he has a player option for next season. If he opts out, he could be a valuable role player for a team looking to win a championship.

Curry, on the other hand, still has a year left on his contract and is eligible for an extension this summer. He told reporters on his exit interview that he plans on playing multiple seasons and is open to extending his stay in Golden State, as per NBC Sports Bay Area.

Following Charles Barkley’s remarks, Draymond Green wasn’t oblivious at what the Hall of Famer was talking about. Green agreed that the hug between him, Steph Curry and Steve Kerr appeared to be the end of their Warriors run.

The four-time champion also took a hilarious jab at Barkley.

“I think the goal is just to not look like you in a Houston Rockets uniform,” Green said.

Green also mentioned that he still wants to stay with Golden State, but the final decision won’t come from him. He understands the business, though he’s still confident that Kerr will remain as coach.
