The New York Knicks are currently awaiting the winner of the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs series to determine their NBA Finals opponent.

Still, attention around the league is already beginning to drift toward what could become a pivotal offseason for several franchises.

That is especially true when it comes to the NBA Draft.

According to HoopsHype, the Knicks’ pre-draft workout schedule includes as many as 25 prospects, ranging from guards and wing options to several potential frontcourt additions.

New York Knicks Evaluating Several Options Ahead of NBA Draft

New York currently owns the No. 24 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, along with a potentially valuable early second-round selection acquired from the Washington Wizards.

Michigan forward Morez Johnson is the highest-ranked prospect reportedly featured on the workout list, while projected first-round pick Maleek Thomas is also scheduled to meet with the franchise.

One of the more intriguing names connected to the Knicks, however, is St. John’s big man Zuby Ejiofor.

The 22-year-old significantly elevated his draft stock during his senior season with the Red Storm.

Across 37 games this season, Ejiofor averaged 16.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.2 steals, and 2.1 blocks while shooting 53.6% from the field and 30.5% from three-point range.

As St. John’s emerged into one of the top programs in the country, Ejiofor became the centerpiece of the team’s success and collected several major honors, including 2026 Big East Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.

He also secured First-Team All-Big East honors for a second straight season, earned a spot on the conference’s All-Defensive Team, and was named Tournament MVP after helping St. John’s capture consecutive conference championships.

Ejiofor also played a major role in the program’s historic Sweet 16 run, finishing with 17 points, eight rebounds, six assists, one steal, and one block in a loss to Duke.

Zuby Ejiofor Emerging as Intriguing Knicks Draft Option

Back in March, Georgetown head coach Ed Cooley even publicly campaigned for Ejiofor to remain in New York at the professional level.

“I’m so glad Zuby Ejiofor is graduating, thank God,” Cooley said, via Rumble in the Garden. “Hopefully he plays for the Knicks or the Nets.”

Despite already completing four collegiate seasons, Ejiofor is still only 22 years old and combines NBA-ready physicality with developmental upside.

He projects as a high-energy, physical rim-running frontcourt player who could fit naturally alongside veteran talent on a contending roster.

Although slightly undersized for a traditional center role at 6-foot-9, Ejiofor’s relentless motor, toughness, rebounding, and defensive intensity continue to stand out to scouts.

“He has solid athleticism overall, be it great verticality or fairly quick movement, and most importantly the wingspan to make up for lack of height,” Sports Illustrated’s Derek Parker said in January.

“Even more, Ejiofor has some of the best motor and physicality in this class, a real love for embracing contact, which helps in a variety of areas, but especially defensively.”

Whether the New York Knicks would ultimately consider Ejiofor with the No. 24 overall pick remains unclear, although he appears to be a strong possibility with New York’s early second-round selection.

HoopsHype also reported that the St. John’s standout has up to 12 additional pre-draft workouts scheduled around the league, including sessions with the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Boston Celtics, and San Antonio Spurs.
