Megan Thee Stallion became visibly emotional during her first public appearance since her breakup with Dallas Mavericks star Klay Thompson, tearing up onstage during a curtain call at Moulin Rouge! The Musical.
Fan-captured footage from her April 25 performance at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre showed the Grammy-winning artist wiping away tears as she received a standing ovation. Still in costume as Zidler, Megan briefly turned away from the audience, overcome by the moment.
The appearance followed a viral social media post in which Megan alleged infidelity and questioned Thompson’s commitment.
“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got ‘cold feet.’ Holding you down through your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season,” the three-time Grammy winner wrote in her Instagram story. Now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous’???? … I need a REAL break after this one… bye y’all.”

She later confirmed the breakup in a statement to TMZ, citing a breakdown in trust.
“I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward,” Megan told TMZ. “I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
The allegations have not been independently confirmed, and Thompson has not publicly responded.
Megan is in the middle of an eight-week Broadway run in Moulin Rouge! The Musical, which began March 24 and runs through May 17.
Her curtain-call reaction — coming within hours of the viral post and subsequent confirmation — spread quickly across social media, turning a scheduled performance into a widely shared moment.
The same video drew a response from Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese, who posted a message widely viewed as support for Megan.
“It’s the way you show up even while carrying so much—that’s what makes you THAT girl,” Reese wrote. “You always have a little sister riding for you at dawn. I love you, sister.”
Reese did not mention Thompson directly, but the post extended the conversation into sports audiences and kept the moment circulating.

The attention lands at a notable time for Thompson and the Dallas Mavericks.
Dallas is coming off a 26-56 season and did not reach the playoffs, closing a turbulent year marked by injuries and roster turnover. The team has already signaled a shift toward a younger core built around rookie cornerstone Cooper Flagg.
Thompson, 35, is entering the final year of his three-year, $50 million contract after averaging 11.7 points in 21.7 minutes while starting just eight games — a significant change from his long-standing role earlier in his career.
With the season over, the focus now turns to Thompson’s role moving forward.
