Now that the Los Angeles Lakers have been officially eliminated from postseason contention, all the focus will turn to LeBron James‘ NBA future.

James’ contract with the Lakers expired after the season. He’s set for unrestricted free agency over the offseason and everyone wants to know what he’s going to do. Is he going to remain with the Lakers? Sign with another team? Retire?

Bronny James Has ‘No Clue’ What LeBron James Will Decide to do Regarding NBA Future

If anyone would know what James is thinking, you would think it would be his son, Bronny, who has suited up alongside LeBron on the Lakers for the past two seasons. However, Bronny insists that he doesn’t have any additional insight when it comes to his father’s future.

“I have no clue, I’m not going to lie to you,” Bronny replied when asked about LeBron’s plans. “He looks like he can play another however many years, but he’s been in league for longer than he’s been out of league. It’s insane. I think he should think about it, and whatever he feels happy with, do that.”

Bronny also didn’t have any inside information when it comes to a potential timeline for his dad’s decision.

“Every athlete after their season is going to take their time to get off their feet and stuff like that,” James said. “So it just really depends on how your body is feeling, how your mind is feeling and just playing it by heart.”

All season, LeBron maintained that he doesn’t know what he plans to do, and that didn’t change after the Lakers were officially eliminated in four games in the Western Conference semifinals by the defending-champion Thunder.

James was asked about his future after the game and he left things open-ended.

“I think you guys asked me about [retirement], and I’ve answered questions. I don’t think I’ve come out and been like, ‘Oh, retirement is coming,'” James said. “With my future, I don’t know, honestly. It’s, obviously it’s still fresh from, obviously losing [the series]. And I don’t know. I don’t know what the future holds for me.”

What James decides to do will be the biggest story in the NBA over the offseason, so all eyes will be on the superstar forward until he ultimately makes a decision.
