Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies is reportedly available for trade.

You can count on Ja Morant being one of the NBA’s top trade prospects this summer. The situation will more than likely pick up where it left off back in February, as the Memphis Grizzlies seem to be hitting a reset.

Before the 2026 NBA trade deadline, there was a lot of lukewarm-to-cold interest in Morant. The star guard was in the midst of a down season that was filled with frustration at his coach and setbacks that were taking him off the floor.

With some time off–and teams finding their proper identity through a season–the Morant market could heat up to a higher temperature this offseason.

Memphis probably won’t get a haul for Morant at this point, but Bleacher Report recently predicted at least five teams that could show interest in the high-flying guard.

Who Might Show Interest In Ja Morant This Summer?

Sacramento Kings

The Kings might’ve been the most interested in Morant before the trade deadline. At this point, Sacramento’s direction has been questioned so many times. They’ve been throwing money at big names, but nothing is working.

Sacramento needs a hard reset. Morant and the Kings would be a bad pairing.

Phoenix Suns

A known star-hunting organization. The Suns have added some notable names over the past few years, and they don’t plan to slow down. A backcourt with Devin Booker and Ja Morant would at least be intriguing.

Money-wise, this one might be difficult to pull off. Morant is owed $42.1 million next season. In 2027-2028, he will be on the books for another $44.8 million.

Milwaukee Bucks

The Bucks’ interest in Morant was to show Giannis Antetokounmpo that they were trying to add a co-star in order to satisfy the former MVP. At this point, the Giannis era in Milwaukee has to end. If it does, then the Bucks’ interest in Morant will depend on who and what the Bucks get in return with an Antetokounmpo deal.

Minnesota Timberwolves

A Game 5 loss against the San Antonio Spurs has the Timberwolves on the brink of elimination. They clearly won’t be happy with a second-round loss, but the Timberwolves honestly overachieved this postseason.

Minnesota upset the Denver Nuggets with dominance. They are putting up a respectable fight against the Spurs with two wins in five games. The Timberwolves won’t need a star shakeup.

Miami Heat

Aside from the Kings, the Miami Heat seemed to be the pre-deadline favorites for Morant. The Heat have wanted another star for far before they traded away Jimmy Butler. The masses believe that a relocation to Miami could be good for Morant.

That should remain the case. The Heat aren’t in a position where they need to embrace a full rebuild. They have some quality players on the roster, including the star center Bam Adebayo. They also have one of the top coaches in the game in Erik Spoelstra.

Morant might be coming off a bad year, averaging 19.5 points and 8.1 assists in just 20 games, but he’s just 26 years old. There is still plenty of time for the two-time All-Star to get back on track. The Heat could get him at a discounted price and take on the challenge of helping him bounce back.
