The Phoenix Suns ruled out center Mark Williams for Game 4 against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Phoenix Suns center Mark Williams hasn’t appeared in a game since the team’s Play-In Tournament loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on April 14. This same pattern will continue in Game 4 on Monday.
Head coach Jordan Ott mentioned that Mark Williams is listed as out and won’t play in Game 4, Suns insider Duane Rankin reported. The reason is ongoing discomfort in the big man’s stress reaction at the third metatarsal of his left foot. The issue reappeared in the playoffs after Williams returned from the injury on April 2.
Ott also added that guard Jordan Goodwin will likely be questionable for Game 4 while he battles a calf strain he suffered in Game 1 of the series against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Things aren’t looking too great for the first-year Phoenix Suns center, Mark Williams. There’s a chance we have seen the last of him for the 2025-26 season after he was ruled out of Game 4, with the Suns’ backs against the wall and facing elimination.
Phoenix has been closely monitoring Williams’ discomfort in his injured foot, but he’s been ruled out for Game 4, forcing the Suns to use other reinforcements.
Williams’ injury has gotten to the point where the center has been seen in a walking boot throughout the first-round series, showing minimal signs of progress in his recovery.
Earlier in the week, head coach Jordan Ott said that they are taking Williams’ recovery “day-by-day.”
“We’re just continuing to take it day-by-day.”

Without the 7-foot-1, 240-pound center clogging up lanes for other teams, Phoenix has relied on second-year big man Oso Ighodaro and rookie Khaman Maluach at the center position.
Heading into Monday’s matchup, the Phoenix Suns are in a win-or-go-home scenario. After escaping the Play-In Tournament with a win against Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors, Phoenix was given the task of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
OKC entered the playoffs as the top seed in the Western Conference and held the best record in the NBA. Phoenix entered the series as the heavy underdog, and these predictions are proving to be realistic.
While dealing with multiple injuries, the Suns have lost three straight, looking for their first official win in the 2026 NBA Playoffs.
On top of Mark Williams dealing with a setback, guards Jordan Goodwin and Grayson Allen haven’t been relied upon in the first-round series.
Goodwin, 27, suffered a calf strain early in Game 1. Despite showing progress in his recovery, the Suns haven’t allowed him to return to action and are “most likely” listed as questionable heading into Game 4, said Jordan Ott.
Phoenix has been without the 8.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game that Goodwin provided in the regular season.
As for Grayson Allen, the 30-year-old guard had been absent since April 10 while dealing with a hamstring strain. The Suns were able to get him back in the Game 3 loss to the Thunder on Saturday, but in a limited fashion.
Allen provided seven points on 2-for-8 shooting while playing in 17 minutes in his return. It is likely that Grayson Allen is still experiencing hamstring discomfort; however, he was healthy enough to return.
The veteran sharpshooter hasn’t been completely healthy for the Suns down the stretch. This has led the team to being without the 16.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 3.8 assists on 40.3/34.9/85.7 shooting splits Grayson Allen provides.
