The Minnesota Timberwolves added two more players to their injury report Thursday morning, joining All-Star guard Anthony Edwards ahead of a pivotal Game 3 at home against the Denver Nuggets.

Timberwolves Injury Report: Anthony Edwards Joined by Jaylen Clark, Terrence Shannon Jr.

Minnesota listed Edwards as questionable due to right knee injury management, while guards Jaylen Clark and Terrence Shannon Jr. were both late additions with illnesses.

Both Clark and Shannon were added to the report on Thursday after Edwards had been the lone Timberwolves player listed earlier in the week following Minnesota’s Game 2 victory in Denver.

Neither Clark nor Shannon saw action in the first two games of the series, meaning their potential absences are unlikely to affect Minnesota’s primary rotation. Still, the additions highlight the physical toll of a tightly contested first-round matchup.

Despite the questionable designation, Edwards is expected to be available for Game 3, according to ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel.

“The Timberwolves have listed Anthony Edwards as questionable to play in Game 3 against the Nuggets due to his right knee injury management. Edwards is expected to be available,” Siegel reported.

Anthony Edwards Injury Status Looms Over Game 3

Edwards’ availability remains central as Minnesota looks to build momentum after evening the series 1-1 on the road.

He delivered a dominant performance in Game 2, finishing with 30 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks while helping fuel a comeback win against the defending champions. Beyond the numbers, Edwards’ leadership has set the tone for the Timberwolves throughout the series.

“He was calm and gave confidence to the guys,” Timberwolves coach Chris Finch said. “When we were down early and big, he was really into them with the right messages — stay calm, execute, and be smarter in key moments.”

Edwards has been managing knee discomfort dating back to the end of the regular season, but has continued to play through it in the playoffs, providing energy on both ends of the floor.

“It definitely uplifts me,” said Julius Randle. “If he’s out there battling, then there’s no excuse why I can’t give my best.”

Nuggets Injury Update: Peyton Watson Ruled Out, Aaron Gordon Probable

On the other side, Denver will again be without wing Peyton Watson, who has been ruled out for Game 3 due to a left hamstring strain. The absence marks his eighth consecutive missed game.

Forward Aaron Gordon is listed as probable despite dealing with left calf tightness, giving the Nuggets a key presence as they look to respond in a critical road game.

Timberwolves vs Nuggets Game 3 Carries Major Series Implications

With the series tied 1-1, Game 3 represents a potential swing point as the matchup shifts to Minnesota.

The Timberwolves and Nuggets have been evenly matched in recent seasons, and the intensity has carried into this first-round series. Minnesota will again rely on Edwards’ scoring and leadership, along with interior defense from Rudy Gobert against Denver star Nikola Jokic.

While Clark and Shannon are not expected to factor into the rotation, their presence on the injury report underscores how quickly depth can be tested in the playoffs.

“Who doesn’t love a big game?” said Naz Reid. “A lot of excitement, a lot of back and forth — that’s what you want.”

With Edwards expected to play and both teams navigating minor injury concerns, Game 3 is shaping up as a defining moment in a tightly contested Western Conference first-round series.
