TThe Minnesota Timberwolves’ injury situation has taken another hit — and it’s now a full-blown crisis ahead of Game 6.

Ayo Dosunmu has been ruled out against the Denver Nuggets, according to ESPN insider Shams Charania, further gutting a backcourt that is already running out of options.

“Major loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves lineup tonight: Guard Ayo Dosunmu is out in Game 6 against the Denver Nuggets due to a calf injury, sources tell ESPN,” Charania wrote.

That timeline only underscores the concern.

“This is a calf issue that Ayo Dosunmu has been dealing with for weeks. Another blow to the shorthanded Timberwolves backcourt,” ESPN’s Anthony Slater added.

The situation only worsened from there.

Kyle Anderson has also been ruled out due to illness after being added late to the injury report, removing another key rotational piece just hours before tipoff.

Dosunmu’s absence carries significant weight given his recent surge.

Over his last five games, the 25-year-old averaged 21.8 points, 4.0 assists and 2.8 rebounds while shooting 60.9% from the field and 54.5% from 3-point range — production that helped keep Minnesota afloat amid mounting injuries.

He followed a 43-point Game 4 performance by starting Game 5 and logging 38 minutes, finishing with 18 points, four assists and three rebounds.

Now, that scoring punch is gone.

Timberwolves Backcourt Depth Hits Breaking Point

With Dosunmu and Anderson out, the Timberwolves are now without multiple key contributors.

Anthony Edwards remains sidelined with a knee injury, while Donte DiVincenzo is out following Achilles surgery.

The result is a severely depleted rotation at the worst possible time in the series.

There is one piece of good news: Bones Hyland has been upgraded to available after initially being listed questionable with left knee soreness.

But that may not be enough to offset the losses.
