Thunder and Suns' Injury Report

The Oklahoma City Thunder will host the Phoenix Suns in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series with momentum firmly on their side after a 119-84 victory in the opener. Oklahoma City enters the matchup with a 1-0 series lead after controlling Game 1 from start to finish at Paycom Center.

Game 1 highlighted a clear execution gap. Oklahoma City forced 19 turnovers while committing just eight and used balanced scoring to build a lead that reached as high as 39 points. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way with 25 points and seven assists, while Jalen Williams added 22 points. For Phoenix, Devin Booker finished with 23 points, but the team struggled to generate consistent offense.

As the series shifts to Game 2, availability has become a central factor. Phoenix is dealing with multiple injury concerns across its rotation, while Oklahoma City remains largely healthy outside of a season-ending absence. The contrast in depth and continuity now shapes the outlook for a pivotal second game.

Phoenix Suns Injury Report

The Suns enter Game 2 with three players listed as questionable: Grayson Allen, Jordan Goodwin, and Mark Williams, creating uncertainty around their rotation.

Grayson Allen is questionable with a left hamstring strain. He has missed multiple recent games and did not log minutes despite being listed as available in prior matchups. His status remains unclear heading into Game 2.

Jordan Goodwin is also questionable after leaving Game 1 with left calf soreness. He played only five minutes before exiting and did not return. During practice, he was seen wearing a sleeve on his left leg. Suns’ head coach said, “Feels pretty good,” but his availability remains uncertain.

Mark Williams presents the most significant question for Phoenix. The center is dealing with a left foot third metatarsal stress reaction and has missed recent games. He was seen in a walking boot during practice. If unavailable, Phoenix is expected to rely on alternative frontcourt options again after being outmatched in size during Game 1.

These injuries come at a critical time. Phoenix was already outplayed physically and struggled to protect the ball in the opener. Any further limitations in depth or size could impact their ability to respond in Game 2.

Oklahoma City Thunder Injury Report

Oklahoma City enters Game 2 with a much clearer injury situation. The team lists only Thomas Sorber as out due to right ACL surgical recovery.

The Thunder otherwise remain fully available. Backup big Jaylin Williams briefly exited Game 1 after tweaking his ankle, but returned in the second half and is not listed on the injury report. He finished with five points in 10 minutes, reinforcing Oklahoma City’s frontcourt depth.

That continuity was evident in the opener. Oklahoma City controlled the pace early, generated defensive pressure, and maintained efficiency on both ends. The team shot 45.2% from the field and recorded 13 steals, consistently disrupting Phoenix’s offensive rhythm.

The depth advantage extends beyond the starting lineup. Contributions from players like Chet Holmgren, who added 16 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks, and Cason Wallace off the bench helped sustain the lead throughout Game 1.

For Phoenix, the injury report adds another layer of difficulty as they attempt to adjust. For Oklahoma City, stability remains a key factor as they look to take a 2-0 series lead.

Game 2 is set for 8:30 p.m. CT at Paycom Center, where the Thunder will aim to build on their opening performance, while the Suns look to respond despite uncertainty surrounding key contributors.
