The Dallas Mavericks‘ offseason just got a whole lot messier. WNBA guard Lexie Brown has broken her silence after social media erupted with speculation that she was at the center of the shocking split between Mavericks star Klay Thompson and rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
As rumors spread wildly online linking her to Thompson, Lexie Brown took to her Instagram Story to shut it all down. Brown flatly denied any romantic involvement with the Mavericks guard, calling the speculation baseless.
“I’ve seen what’s being said online, and I want to be clear, none of it is true, and I have no involvement in this situation. This week marks the start of an important and exciting new season for me, and my focus is fully on that,” Brown wrote.

The drama all started on April 25 when Megan Thee Stallion went to her Instagram Story and unloaded on Thompson without holding back:
“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got ‘cold feet.’ Holding you down through your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season. Now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous’???? I need a REAL break after this one… bye y’all,” she wrote.
Megan then confirmed the split to TMZ through her rep, stating, “I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward.”

The off-court drama comes during an already turbulent time for both Thompson and the Mavericks organization. Dallas finished 26-56 this season and missed the playoffs, with the franchise now in a rebuild centered around Rookie of the Year candidate Cooper Flagg.
Thompson averaged 11.7 points in 69 games, starting just eight times, a far less from his days as a Warriors starter. Adding to the storyline, WNBA star Angel Reese publicly posted a message of support for Megan, writing, “You always have a little sister riding for you at dawn,” which quickly went viral and kept the spotlight squarely on the Mavericks guard.
Despite the very public accusations, Mavericks fans and NBA supporters have largely stood behind Thompson since the split went viral. The outpouring of support for the four-time NBA champion has been overwhelming across social media, with the majority of fans firmly in his corner.
