Knicks wing OG Anunoby

The Philadelphia 76ers are no longer the only team dealing with a notable setback in the second round series against the New York Knicks.

Following the Game 2 action, the Knicks have question marks surrounding the star forward, OG Anunoby.

Late in Wednesday’s game, Anunoby went up for a dunk attempt. When he landed, the veteran wing was clearly in discomfort. After the game, the Knicks’ head coach, Mike Brown, stated that he didn’t have an update on Anunoby, but many seem to be preparing for the worst, as the two-way standout was struggling to run.

How Are The Knicks Without OG Anunoby?

From the Sixers’ point of view, it’s worth taking a look at New York’s performance when they are missing such a dynamic wing.

Since the Knicks landed Anunoby during the 2023-2024, he only missed three games against the 76ers.

GettyOG Anunoby was listed as questionable on the NBA’s official injury report ahead of the New York Knicks’ game against the Utah Jazz on Friday, December 5.

During the one game Anunoby missed against the 76ers this year, the Knicks secured a dominant 138-89 victory. Surprisingly, the Knicks lost two out of the other three games against the Sixers this season with Anunoby on the floor.

This season, the Knicks played without Anunoby 15 times. They posted an 8-7 record in his absence. Just seven of those matchups were against playoff opponents.

What’s Next For The Knicks?

New York Knicks star OG Anunoby left Game 2 versus the Philadelphia 76ers and did not return to the game.

The Knicks didn’t get the same comfortable blowout victory over the 76ers in Game 2, but they secured a 108-102 win to move to 2-0 in the series.

New York has a nice cushion heading into Philadelphia on Friday, but the question marks surrounding Anunoby’s status will be notable.

As for the 76ers, they have questions as well. The star center, Joel Embiid, is dealing with multiple ailments. Although the big man played in Game 1 at Madison Square Garden, he was ruled out ahead of Game 2.

The status for stars on both sides of the court in the second-round series between Philly and New York are questionable for the time being.
