Klay Thompson #31 of the Dallas Mavericks reacts after scoring against the Golden State Warriors.
Off-court stories always find the Mavericks, and this one landed with the kind of noise that spreads fast across leagues.
And honestly, people are talking about it everywhere, from celebrity interviews to podcast channels.
What made it stick was how specific it got. Not just romance, not just rumors. This time it’s simply a boat, a price tag, and another WNBA player getting dragged into the drama for no good reason.

GettyKlay Thompson’s name gets dragged in Sophie Cunningham’s new podcast.
Sophie Cunningham gave this story its sharpest line on the Show Me Something podcast, and honestly, it was so oddly perfect that it was always going to travel.
Instead of diving straight into the breakup drama, the Indiana Fever guard went right to the detail fans remembered most.
“My main concern is like the boat name because he named his boat after her, Meg. So, he’s going to have to get that re-painted,” Cunningham said.
That line has a particular significance because the boat had become part of Klay Thompson’s very public romance with Megan Thee Stallion.
Cunningham also dropped some hot take: “He spent like $4 million on her. He’s like, ‘I’ll never do that again.’”

GettyMavericks’ Klay Thompson again gets in the limelight with a new boat question.
There was also the Lexie Brown story which spoke volumes about the nature of nasty online speculations. In fact, Brown was dragged into the social media gossip linking her to the break-up, however, there was no at all a tangible ground for it.
Recently, an old photo of Klay Thomson in a practice session went viral, and it was alleged that the woman sitting behind him was Lexi Brown. That has caused a lot of twist in this situation.
As for the split itself, Megan made it clear why she walked away. “I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
The situation with Thompson was just another bad news story to add to the challenging season he was having in Dallas. In general, it was a tough season for the Mavericks who failed to build good momentum and didn’t even make the playoffs.
It seemed like Klay’s season was going from one problem to another, like he was never getting a break. A season turning up badly for some reason, the least player-related stories somehow grow and get much louder.
