As the New York Knicks prepare for the 2026 NBA Playoffs, they landed good news on Wednesday afternoon. The veteran two-way standout, OG Anunoby, was a participant at practice.

During the Knicks’ final stretch of the 2025-2026 regular season, Anunoby twisted his ankle in a Friday victory over the Toronto Raptors.

When the Knicks approached their Sunday action against the Charlotte Hornets, they ruled Anunoby out, along with a handful of other core players.

While the chances of Anunoby playing in the finale were going to be low no matter what, his presence on the injury report was slightly more concerning, considering he was dealing with an actual ailment.

When Anunoby checked out of the April 10 matchup against the Toronto Raptors, the forward had just 15 minutes played. He shot 1-4 from the field, scoring two points. Anunoby also came down with five rebounds and produced three assists.

The Knicks’ forward just wrapped up his third season with the team (second full year). In 67 games, Anunoby shot 48.4% from the field and 38.6% from three, to average 16.7 points per game.

He also came down with 4.9 rebounds per game, while coming up with 1.5 steals per game. Anunoby continues to bring a valuable two-way skill set to the table for the Knicks.

As the NBA Play-In Tournament continues on Wednesday, the Knicks have a few more days before they tip off for the start of the 2026 NBA Playoffs.

The Knicks are gearing up for a first-round series against the Atlanta Hawks. It’s set to tip off at 6 PM ET at Madison Square Garden.

New York hasn’t released its injury report just yet, but all signs are pointing to Anunoby being ready to go for the playoffs.

Over the past two seasons, Anunoby has appeared in 27 playoff games over two years with the Knicks. The veteran forward has knocked down 41.7% of his field goals, while averaging 15.9 points. He has also posted averages of 5.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.1 blocks.
