Mikal Bridges, New York Knicks

The New York Knicks fans have officially reached their breaking point with Mikal Bridges. After yet another poor performance in a heartbreaking playoff loss, fans took to social media with no filter and no mercy, unloading on the man who cost the franchise five first-round picks.

Knicks Fall to Hawks, Bridges Goes Scoreless

In‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ a heartbreaking manner, the New York Knicks lost 109-108 to Atlanta Hawks in the Game 3 of their playoff series. As a result, they are trailing 2-1 in the best-of-seven series. Although the Knicks managed to get back into the game during the second half, it was mostly without their star player – since Mikal Bridges was bound to the bench for most of those minutes.

The ex-Brooklyn Nets player closed the game with an extremely poor stat line: no points on 0-for-3 shooting, four turnovers, and such a disastrous performance that New York was actually better looking when he was not on the ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌court.

Bridges did step to the interview afterward, saying, “There’s no other way…it’s a tough one, I’ve got to take it on the chin and handle it how I’m supposed to. It’s going to suck, it is what it is. I’ve got to be better and help my team out there.” — but Knicks fans weren’t buying it.

Mikal Bridges on how he'll bounce back from a scoreless Game 3:

"There's no other way…it's a tough one, I've got to take it on the chin and handle it how I'm supposed to. It's going to suck, it is what it is. I've got to be better and help my team out there." pic.twitter.com/GX18c5Ozct

The internet swiftly delivered its verdict, and it was merciless. From frustrated long-timers to casual fans, the comment sections overflowed with rage directed at Bridges.

One furious fan went completely off: “Why we asking this bottom feeding mf ANYTHING! U only here bc ya boy was the MAN here and took the paycut…..Foh fight for all 48, u didnt fight for 48 seconds!” A sentiment that reflected the widespread frustration over Bridges seemingly coasting rather than competing.

Another user brought up the Dyson Daniels comparison, writing: “Shut your a** up and actually do it. You let Dyson Daniels put up better offensive numbers than you. That’s f***ing disgraceful.”

One commenter kept it blunt and devastating: “Ur a disgrace.”

A particularly pointed fan placed blame squarely on front office decisions: “Bro says this too much. Just admit the lights are too bright for you and Leon Rose set the franchise back by giving up the picks for you.”

Another user didn’t mince words: “You are a bum @mikal_bridges — please demand a trade.”

One fan issued a stark warning ahead of the next game: “F**k you, zero points. Dont come outside bro, and get ready for Milwaukee.”

Perhaps the most damning comment of the night summed up the collective outrage perfectly: “WE GAVE UP 5 FIRST ROUND PICKS FOR YOU AND YOU HAD 0 POINTS IN A DO OR DIE PLAYOFF GAME BRIDGES WTF PLEASE SHUT THE F**K UP.”

Another fan suggested the Knicks would’ve simply been better off without him: “This guy cannot start next game if the knicks are a serious organization…if he would have sat the whole game the knicks win thats how awful bridges was.”

One user mocked Bridges’ effort on the floor: “He needs to shut his b**ch a** up. Running marathons on court.”

And in what might be the most iconic line of the night, one fan wrote: “YOU YES YOU READING THIS SCORED THE SAME AMOUNT OF POINTS AS MIKAL BRIDGES TONIGHT.”
