Anthony Edwards has now set another Minnesota Timberwolves franchise scoring record, once again leading a well-rounded team with title hopes.

As the Minnesota Timberwolves attempt to close out their first-round series on Monday, April 27, the team is missing two very key players in Anthony Edwards and Donte DiVincenzo.

Both players suffered devastating setbacks during the Game battle in Minnesota.

DiVincenzo went out in the first quarter. Many feared he suffered an Achilles injury, and each update on the guard throughout the game revealed bad news. Eventually, it was confirmed that DiVincenzo was diagnosed with a torn Achilles. His postseason has concluded.

Anthony Edwards’ setback wasn’t as severe, but it was notable.

The Timberwolves announced that Edwards was diagnosed with a left knee hyperextension and a bone bruise. The Timberwolves are moving forward with him considered week-to-week, and he’ll miss the remainder of the first-round series even if it continues beyond Game 5.

Chris Finch Reveals A Key Update On Edwards & DiVincenzo

Before Monday’s action, Chris Finch was asked about how the two starters are doing, now that the news has settled it. For Edwards, Finch didn’t have too much to reveal.

“They’re both in the best mental space that they can be, given what they’ve been through,” said the head coach.

Finch would expand on DiVincenzo’s situation, considering he just underwent surgery. As for Edwards, he’ll be hard at work, hoping to get another shot to contribute this postseason.

Following the last game, Timberwolves veteran Julius Randle acknowledged his postgame moment with Edwards.

“I saw Ant and just kind of dapped him up,” Randle revealed.

“There’s not much to say in those moments. I’m definitely going to give them a call tonight or text just to check up on them. It’s really not much to say. As somebody who’s been in those situations, processing is a lot. As a brother, I just want them to know that I’m there for them in any way possible. It’s a wide range of emotions that both of them are probably going through right now. Just kind of got to sit with that.”

Before going down, Edwards clocked in for four games. He posted averages of 18.5 points (35.8% FG, 25.8% 3pt), 6.8 rebounds, and 3.0 assists.

Throughout the postseason, Edwards was already dealing with knee-related concerns. The injury 17 minutes into Game 4 just placed him in an even more difficult scenario.
