The tension between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets took a sharp turn after Game 2. Minnesota forward Jaden McDaniels did not hold back when asked how his team unlocked its offense in a 119-114 win, The Athletic reports. His answer quickly became the headline.

“Go at Jokic, Jamal, all the bad defenders,” McDaniels said, before listing multiple Denver players. “The whole team, just go at them.”

That level of directness caught attention across the league. Among those weighing in was Carmelo Anthony, who embraced the tone and the timing.

“That’s grown man talk,” Anthony said. “You didn’t beat around the bush, you called names out.” He added that the comments shift the energy of the series, saying the matchup now carries a deeper edge. Anthony pointed to Nikola Jokic as someone likely to respond, noting that statements like that can elevate a star’s mindset. “This is war, this is chess,” he said, while also warning that Game 3 will shape how the moment gets judged.
