If it’s going to be hard believing anything the Denver Broncos tell us moving forward, it’s fair to point out what’s happened around quarterback Bo Nix’s recovery from ankle surgery as the reason why.
The Broncos seem incapable of telling the truth when it comes to Nix’s recovery, which was underlined in recent days after he underwent a surprise, 2nd surgery that now seems to keep him sidelined until training camp.
You know what hurts NFL teams? When their starting quarterback isn’t available to work out with his teammates for an entire offseason.
For a team that seemed like Super Bowl contenders after losing to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game — without Nix — that’s a problem.
The Broncos were called out for seeming to “gaslight” their fans over the injury to Nix and his recovery by the DNVR Broncos Podcast.
From DNVR: “I’m a little pissed off. I have a range of emotions. I don’t like being gaslit, and I feel like that’s what’s happening here is we were hearing one thing all along … that (Nix) would be ready for all of OTAs. That it would be 6 weeks and he’s at The Masters and he’s walking around and everything’s fine. Ok great. Now all of a sudden it’s ‘He had another procedure and he’s going to miss OTAs, and this was expected all along. Don’t you guys remember?’ I’m like … what do you mean? No it wasn’t. The Broncos were telling us something different and I feel like I’m being gaslit and the reason why is because something’s not right (with Nix’s ankle).”
