Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward

Joining Robert Saleh’s coaching staff on the Tennessee Titans is former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll as the team’s offensive coordinator.

Daboll was one of the most requested coaches to interview in the recent coaching cycle, receiving both offensive coordinator and head coaching interviews.

“It felt like the right fit with the right people,” Daboll said, via ClutchPoints. “And then ultimately Cam [Ward] was a big factor. Have a lot of confidence in this young man… I look forward to working with him.”

Brian Daboll had the opportunity to meet his new signal caller during offseason workouts, having positive words for the quarterback.

Cam Ward had head coach Brian Callahan and offensive coordinator Nick Holz call the plays in his rookie season. The Titans had the third-worst scoring offense in the 2025 season, totaling just 16.7 points per game.

As noted above, part of the reason Brian Daboll joined Tennessee was due to the second-year quarterback. Now, having met Ward at offseason workouts, the new Titans offensive coordinator praised his new quarterback.

“He is a young professional,” Daboll said, via the Titans. “He wants to be great. He is instinctive. When we are just watching the tape, he is able to communicate the things that he sees and why he did certain things when we watch the tape from last year.”

“When we are installing the new system to him, concepts and things like that, he is able to pick things up very quickly. It has been awesome to work with him.”

The New York Giants offense was one of the worst in the league when Daboll was calling the plays in the 2024 season, averaging 16.1 points per game.

But Daboll’s track record goes back to the Buffalo Bills days, when he had Josh Allen at quarterback. In his final two seasons as offensive coordinator with the Bills, the offense was the second and third-best offense, averaging 31.1 and 28.4 points per game.

Ward registered 3,169 passing yards and 15 touchdowns, while rushing for 159 yards and 2 touchdowns in his rookie season. Entering year 2 with Brian Daboll as his quarterback, Cam Ward could be set up for a strong season.

With his new offensive coordinator holding high praise for him, Cam Ward had similar words after the Tennessee Titans hired Brian Daboll.

“I think he’s going to do a lot of things to compliment me. I think he is going to put me and the team in the best situation,” Ward said, via the Titans. ”

“He is a coach who is well respected, and someone like me wants to play for a guy like that. I am for sure going to have his back, and he is going to have mine. I am excited to learn from him…He is going to get on my ass when he needs to, and he is going to hold me to a high standard. And that’s the standard I want to be held to.”

Surrounded by a whole new coaching staff and new weapons on the field, Cam Ward could help the Titans make a playoff push.
