Former Browns quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson led his UFL team to a win.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson got his revenge as he led the Birmingham Stallions to a 20-17 victory over the Orlando Storm, his former team.

Thompson-Robinson led the Stallions to a win over the Orlando Storm on Sunday, the same franchise that overlooked him for the starting job and later traded him.

“You should’ve kept me!” Thompson-Robinson yelled at the Storm sideline during the final moments of the game.

Thompson-Robinson passed for 271 yards and a touchdown in the victory. He embraced the opportunity to beat his former squad.

“Definitely be chopping it up and chirping up those guys when we get back,” Thompson-Robinson said after the game. “I got a little bragging rights now.”

Through two games as the starter, Thompson-Robinson has been one of the most productive passers in the UFL. He’s thrown for 603 yards and three touchdowns.

DTR’s Long Road From Cleveland to Birmingham

Thompson-Robinson is getting a shot to earn another NFL opportunity through his UFL stint. The Browns selected Thompson-Robinson in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft out of UCLA.

He made five starts across two seasons in Cleveland, showing flashes of dual-threat ability before the organization moved on, trading him to the Philadelphia Eagles as part of the Kenny Pickett deal in March 2025. The Eagles released him before the 2025 season began. NFL workouts led nowhere.

The UFL became the next chapter. Orlando claimed his rights in the January quarterback draft, but the Storm went with Jack Plummer as their starter, relegating DTR to the bench. Thompson-Robinson barely saw the field through two games as Plummer started and finished both.

Two weeks ago, Birmingham sent quarterback Matt Corral and defensive end Amani Bledsoe to Orlando in exchange for Thompson-Robinson, with the Stallions looking for a spark after getting shut out 16-0 by the Storm the week before. Thompson-Robinson had been on the roster for less than a week when he made his Stallions debut — passing for 313 yards and two touchdowns in a 45-28 loss to the DC Defenders.

Browns Current QB Situation Unresolved

Back in Cleveland, the quarterback situation remains as unsettled as ever. Deshaun Watson emerged from the Browns’ voluntary minicamp last week with the early edge over Shedeur Sanders in what new head coach Todd Monken has framed as an open competition.

“Deshaun Watson emerged from the Browns’ voluntary minicamp last week with an edge over Shedeur Sanders in the two-man quarterback competition — and has the inside track to be named the Browns QB1,” Cabot said. “The Browns have said that their quarterback decision will be based on performance alone as opposed to development and a potential high pick in next year’s QB-rich draft class, and if the season started tomorrow, Watson would be the starter.”

Monken wants to name a starter by the end of the team’s June 9-11 minicamp, giving Sanders roughly six weeks to close the gap. Dillon Gabriel — who was a third-round pick in 2025 — received no first-team reps. Sixth-round rookie Taylen Green is also in the mix , though he is considered a developmental option.
