CBS Sports's Zachary Pereles argued Kevin O'Connell and the Minnesota Vikings are a fit for free agency wide receiver Jauan Jennings.
Veteran wide receiver Jauan Jennings left his NFL free agency visit to Kevin O’Connell and the Minnesota Vikings without a contract this week. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the Vikings hosted Jennings on Tuesday night.
CBS Sports’s Zachary Pereles argued days later that Minnesota shouldn’t wait any longer and sign the wideout.
On a list where he named the best remaining free agency fit for every team, Pereles picked Jennings for the Vikings.
“This one is straightforward,” wrote Pereles. “Jennings was visiting the Vikings on Tuesday and Wednesday.
“He’d be a nice add to join Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.”
The Vikings lost the team’s WR3 from last year, Jalen Nailor, in 2026 NFL free agency. This past weekend, the 2026 NFL Draft came and went without O’Connell and the team addressing receiver.
Jennings possesses five years of NFL experience. He became a regular starter for the San Francisco 49ers over the past two years.
In 2025, Jennings registered 55 catches for 643 yards and nine touchdowns in 15 games. He averaged 11.7 yards per reception.
With Minnesota arguably neglecting wideout in NFL free agency and the 2026 NFL Draft, the Vikings have 2025 third-round pick Tai Felton set to be the team’s WR3.
That has a lot of the Vikings faithful feeling uneasy. Felton posted three catches for 25 yards as a rookie last season.
In Jennings, Minnesota could add a reliable veteran. He’s posted at least 250 receiving yards in each of his five NFL seasons.
