Pro Football Sports Network's Jacob Infante predicted the Minnesota Vikings to sign former Green Bay Packers cornerback Rasul Douglas.

Veteran cornerback Rasul Douglas called the Green Bay Packers home during a recent interview. But that doesn’t necessarily mean a Douglas-Packers reunion will work out.

Pro Football Sports Network’s Jacob Infante doesn’t see Douglas rejoining Green Bay. In fact, on May 4, Infante predicted Douglas to come back to the NFC North to play for the Minnesota Vikings instead.

Infante made that projection while ranking Douglas as the No. 10-best available player remaining in NFL free agency.

“The Dolphins needed a stopgap starting option at cornerback last year, and Rasul Douglas filled that role admirably,” wrote Infante. “He had two interceptions and ranked No. 15 in the league in PFSN’s CB Impact Scoring at 84.3.

“He’ll be 31 in August, so he’s hardly a long-term solution for any team, but he should get the chance to battle for a starting role.”

Could Rasul Douglas Sign With Vikings?

Douglas hasn’t played for the Packers in nearly three years. The team traded him to the Buffalo Bills at the 2023 NFL trade deadline.

But the defensive back recently called Green Bay “home” during an interview with Packers Report’s Easton Butler. That caused Packers fans to urge the team to consider bringing back Douglas for 2026.

A reunion still doesn’t seem super likely. But Packers fans clinging to hope Douglas comes back will be very disappointing if he joins the Vikings instead.

Minnesota waited until the fifth round to address cornerback in the 2026 NFL Draft. At No. 163 overall, the Vikings added Stephen F. Austin State cornerback Charles Demmings.

For the position during NFL free agency, Minnesota only signed veteran James Pierre.

Infante sees Douglas’ experience and veteran leadership as a fit for the Vikings. In 15 games last season for the Miami Dolphins, Douglas had 62 combined tackles, 13 pass defenses and two interceptions.

Douglas started his career as a third-round pick for the Philadelphia Eagles. His 46 games with the Eagles remains his most for any team in the league.

But Douglas made more starts for the Packers (28) than any other NFL club. In 36 games overall, Douglas posted 174 combined tackles, 32 pass defenses and 10 interception in Green Bay.

During 2021, Douglas intercepted five pass, which remains tied for his career high. The cornerback returned two of those picks for touchdowns.

Packers CB Depth in 2026 NFL Offseason

A Douglas reunion in Green Bay appears unlikely because the Packers added three new cornerbacks this offseason.

First, in NFL free agency, the Packers signed Benjamin St-Juste. He will replace Nate Hobbs as the team’s veteran depth cornerback.

Then during the 2026 NFL Draft, the Packers selected cornerbacks Brandon Cisse and Domani Jackson. Green Bay added Cisse as its first pick at No. 52 overall.

Those three cornerbacks will play behind returning starters Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine. Both of those cornerbacks played more than two-thirds of the team’s defensive snaps last season. Nixon lined up for about 90% of Green Bay’s defensive snaps in 2025.

The Packers also have Shemar Bartholomew, Kamal Hadden, Domani Jackson, and Bo Melton at cornerback on their offseason roster.

Green Bay will see that group together at the team’s next offseason workout session on May 26. The Packers will hold their mandatory minicamp from June 9-11.
