Skip Bayless praises Eagles GM Howie Roseman following recent trade with Cowboys.
During the first round of the NFL Draft, Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman executed a trade to bolster the roster’s wide receiver depth. Since pulling off this maneuver, the longtime executive has received endless praise for his latest addition to the roster.
While on “The Arena: Gridiron” on April 24th, Skip Bayless gave his thoughts on the Eagles nabbing Makai Lemon towards the end of the first round. He didn’t hold back with his remarks, stating that Roseman got the best of Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys in this trade.
“The biggest shock of the night to me was that Howie Roseman, the best GM in pro football, bamboolzed Jerry Jones out of a pick at 20 so that he could take a falling Makai Lemon,” Bayless said. “He’s just a baller.”

Lemon was viewed as one of the top WR prospects in this draft following a strong college career at USC. He now joins an Eagles receiver room that is headlined by premier talents such as DeVonta Smith and AJ Brown.
Bayless’ praise for Roseman and the Eagles did not end there. Later on in the episode, the panel gave their biggest winners from the first round of the NFL Draft. He stuck with Philadelphia, calling their selection of Lemon the steal of the night.
“The degree of difficulty to go from 23 up to 20 to pull off the steal of the draft,” Bayless said. “He’s the perfect pick for the perfect team at the perfect time. He’s just what the doctor ordered for Jalen Hurts.”
Lemon has a good case for being one of the major steals of the draft. Heading into the night, ESPN had him ranked as the top prospect at his position. Despite this, he ended up being the third receiver chosen and slipped to the latter half of the first round. On top of that, Lemon winds up on one of the NFC’s biggest title contenders in the Eagles.
Throughout his tenure with the Eagles, Roseman has been widely regarded as one of if not the NFL’s top GM. He continues to live up to this reputation by executing moves like the one he had on Thursday.
While on her “Up & Adams” show, Kay Adams had nothing but good things to say about this move from the Eagles. She thinks adding Lemon will help amid the ongoing saga with Brown, and took the time to give Roseman his flowers.
“It’s not just the player that makes this a big win by the way, it’s that dirty dog Howie stealing the show,” Adams said. “He’s a bad guy in a great way. The fact that Makai was on the phone with Pittsburgh. Howie jumps the Steelers, snags him…He’s an animal, he’s a freaking mastermind.”
The Eagles’ offense was already loaded with weapons around Hurts, and now Roseman has added another dynamic talent to the mix by acquiring Lemon.
