The Las Vegas Raiders have done some great things this offseason, but the wide receiver room is still a concern. The team looked at a lot of wide receivers heading into the draft, but didn’t end up adding one until the sixth round.

Just last year, they did use a second-round pick on Jack Bech, who had 20 catches for 224 yards as a rookie. The Raidders had bigger expectations for him, but he wasn’t able to make much of an impact.

That doesn’t mean he can’t still live up to his draft position. The Raiders’ entire offense was a mess last season, and they changed offensive coordinators halfway through the year. With a new quarterback and offensive playcaller coming in, Bech could be much better in 2026. Greg Auman of Fox Sports listed the young wide receiver among the biggest breakout candidates for this season.

“After a quiet rookie season, could Jack Bech emerge as rookie Fernando Mendoza’s favorite receiver? Tight end Brock Bowers might be the offense’s primary target, but Bech — who had 20 catches for 224 yards and no touchdowns last year — could easily outpace Tre Tucker and newcomer Jalen Nailor as the Las Vegas Raiders’ best downfield threat,” Auman wrote. “He broke out as a senior at TCU in 2024 with 1,034 receiving yards and nine touchdowns, and he has as good a chance as any to benefit from a No. 1 overall pick throwing the ball in Las Vegas.”

John Spytek Happy With WR Room

Since the Raiders met with so many wide receivers during the pre-draft process, it was easy to speculate that they weren’t happy with their current room. Tre Tucker has been solid, but he hasn’t proven to be a No. 1.

Jalen Nailor has some untapped potential, but he’s never been more than a No. 3 wide receiver. Bech and Dont’e Thornton are promising young players, but haven’t proven anything. Despite that, general manager John Spytek likes the players the team has right now.

“I like our receiver room,” Spytek said on “Up & Adams.” “I think probably people are going to roll their eyes. I mean everybody loves receivers. This is a question I get from my kids, ‘Dad, like can we have 15 receivers on the roster?’ We live in the fantasy football world. Receiver, receiver, receiver. I value receivers, I do. I really do. But I love Tre Tucker and he’s a good player. And we’re excited about Jalen Nailor and we drafted Jack Bech in the second last year. We have belief in Jack. We drafted Dont’e Thornton in the fourth last year. We believe in him. I’m excited with Malik Benson. We’re not going to force anything. We have a very thorough evaluation of every player at every position and it never goes the way you want it to go, Kay.”

Raiders Could Still Add a Veteran

For now, the Raiders can roll with the young wide receivers and see who steps up. There are still some good veterans in free agency who will likely wait to see their options until training camp.

If the Raiders feel like they still need help at the position, they could always sign a veteran down the road.
