The Buffalo Bills kicked off their Organized Team Activities on Monday, marking the first time that veteran players and rookies will hit the field together.

OTAs are not mandatory so that a few Bills players will be absent, but this is a great opportunity for the remaining players to step up and make a name for themselves. It’s also a chance for some to seize opportunities at the expense of others. Randy Gurzi from the Buffalo Bills on SI believes that wide receiver Keon Coleman’s position could be at risk during camp.

“No player will have a larger target on his back during OTAs and training camp than Keon Coleman,” Gurzi wrote on Monday. “The third-year wide receiver was supposed to be their WR1 when selected early in the second round of the 2024 NFL draft, but has yet to live up to expectations.

“Coleman is now behind D.J. Moore and Khalil Shakir, and will have to fight for his spot behind them. Fourth-round pick Skyler Bell could carve out a role as a rookie and Joshua Palmer is still a threat for his spot as well. Even with the coaching staff and front office expressing faith in Coleman, he might be on borrowed time.”

Coleman Hasn’t Produced in His First Two Seasons

The Bills selected Coleman with the 33rd pick in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, and his first two seasons in the league have not been impressive.

Coleman has played in 26 games, recording 67 receptions for 960 yards and eight touchdowns. The 23-year-old wide receiver missed four games in his rookie season due to a wrist injury, and last season, he sat out another four games due to being a healthy scratch.

It’s frustrating enough that Coleman hasn’t made an impact in his first two seasons, but what’s even worse is that the Bills traded their star receiver, Stefon Diggs, to the Houston Texans before the 2024 draft. Coleman was supposed to step in and help fill the role that Diggs once held. While he wasn’t expected to take over Diggs’ position completely, he was meant to be a key contributor. Unfortunately, that hasn’t materialized over the past two years.

Coleman may be facing his final opportunity with the Bills this summer, and that chance could slip away if he doesn’t perform up to expectations during training camp. The Bills made a significant move this offseason by acquiring wide receiver DJ Moore, and they also drafted UConn wide receiver Skyler Bell in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft. With these additions, the team now has reliable options in place if Coleman doesn’t step up his game.

Moore Could be the WR Josh Allen Has Been Looking For

Allen has been on the lookout for a dependable veteran receiver ever since the Bills traded Diggs two seasons ago, and Moore could be that player. With eight years of experience in the NFL, Moore has spent time with the Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears, amassing 608 receptions for 8,213 yards and 41 touchdowns over the course of 131 games.

Moore is coming off a season where he recorded just 50 receptions for 682 yards and six touchdowns over 17 games. However, the Bills don’t appear to be concerned about his dip in production, especially since they traded a 2026 second-round pick to acquire him.
