The Philadelphia Eagles have had another quality NFL offseason as Howie Roseman looks to build the team back to being a top-tier Super Bowl contender.

Over the years, quite a few stars have come and gone. It’s possible the Eagles could see another depart this offseason. A.J. Brown remains a popular trade candidate.

Quite often, other NFC East teams have swooped in and signed players leaving Philadelphia. There is no love between the Eagles and any of the other teams in the division.

With that being said, a new suggestion would see a former Philadelphia star land with the New York Giants.


Former Eagles Star Could Sign With Giants Late in Free Agency

Darryl Slater of NJ.com has suggested that the Giants could sign veteran running back Miles Sanders. Of course, Sanders began his career with the Eagles and played his first four seasons in Philadelphia.

After those four years, Sanders took off to sign with the Carolina Panthers. He played two years there before signing with the Dallas Cowboys for the 2025 season. Now, he remains a free agent on the market.

In addition to Sanders, Slater also suggested that other free agent options for New York could be Najee Harris and Antonio Gibson.

“Harris would be an intriguing addition. He briefly played for Harbaugh’s brother Jim with the Chargers last season before tearing his Achilles tendon in Week 3,” Slater wrote.

“But it’s not like he’s that old. He turned 28 in March. Similarly, Sanders and Gibson are both coming off knee injuries, but still seemingly have some juice left.”


What Can Miles Sanders Still Bring to the Table?

Last season with the Cowboys, the 29-year-old running back played in just four games. He carried the football 20 times for 117 yards and a touchdown, while also catching eight passes for 30 yards.

Back in 2024 with the Panthers, Sanders racked up 205 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 55 carries in 11 games.

His last big year came back in 2022 with the Eagles. In that season, he carried the ball 259 times for 1,269 yards and 11 touchdowns. Sanders also caught 20 passes for 78 yards that year.

Sanders hasn’t been with Philadelphia for a few years now. However, it would still hurt to see him sign with the Giants. It would not be surprising though, as New York could certainly use more running back depth.

All of that being said, this is just a suggestion and there have been no concrete reports about the Giants actually having interest in signing Sanders. Should they choose to do so, it would simply throw more gas on the rivalry fire.
