Stefon Diggs aired his thoughts on his former team.

Former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs had a “complicated” relationship with personal chef Mila Adams before her accusation that he assaulted her, the woman testified at the start of his trial on Monday.

Adams took the stand as the trial for Diggs got underway near Boston. The wide receiver is accused of assaulting her during a dispute over pay, charges that Diggs has vehemently denied.

Mila Adams Describes Relationship With Stefon Diggs

As NBC Boston reported, Adams described how she first met Diggs during his third season with the Bills, leading to a physical relationship.

“Adams said she first came to know Diggs in December 2022 over an Instagram message. She said they had a ‘complicated’ relationship that at one point became sexual,” the report noted. “In February of 2025, they began speaking about her working for him as a personal chef. She later moved into his Dedham house to do so, and was paid $2,000 a week. She said she wanted to help him to get healthy.”

Diggs has denied assaulting Adams, and his lawyers told the jury on Monday that the accuser was upset about not being included on a trip.

“Attorney Andrew Kettlewell said on December 2, friends and others were arriving to his house ahead of a trip to Miami for vacation. Kettlewell said the chef was upset she was not included on the trip,” the report noted. “Chef Mila Adams was in a feud with an associate of Diggs’, Kettlewell said, adding she was upset that Diggs took the other person’s side in the argument.”

Kettlewell also claimed that Adams had “curated” messages she showed to police to support her story, the report added.

Adams corroborated this, telling the jury that she was planning to match outfits with Diggs’ girlfriend, rapper Cardi B.

“On the morning of Dec. 2, Adams described being upset about not being able to go on the Miami trip, to the art expo Art Basel, and telling Diggs about it,” the report noted. “She said she’d been planning coordinated outfits with Diggs’ girlfriend, Cardi B. Later on, she was lying on her bed in the bedroom, Adams testified, when Diggs opened the door and came inside.”

Stefon Diggs Tried to Reach Settlement Before Trial Began

Diggs and his legal team tried to avoid the start of Monday’s trial, with Boston 25 News reporting that his attorneys attempted to negotiate a settlement with Adams.

“In earlier court appearances, Diggs’ previous attorneys stated they were working to resolve the dispute with a financial settlement,” the report noted. “That did not happen.”

Diggs has maintained his innocence through the legal process, but could still face punishment from the NFL. The league is able to hand down suspensions to players accused of assault or other crimes, even if they are not convicted.
