The Green Bay Packers and general manager Brian Gutekunst got a steal in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft. With the No. 120 overall pick, the team selected Penn State pass rusher Dani Dennis-Sutton.

Ahead of the draft, there were many mock drafts projecting Dennis-Sutton as a second round pick. Instead, he slid to the fourth round.

As is the case with many players who go through a draft slide, a new chip has been placed on Dennis-Sutton’s shoulder.

Ryan Wood of USA Today has shared a quote from Dennis-Sutton. The rookie pass rusher has put the NFL on notice after so many teams chose to pass on him before the Packers scooped him up.

“It definitely leaves a chip on my shoulder,” Dennis-Sutton said. “I’m just happy to be a Packer.”

What Will Dani Dennis-Sutton Bring to the Packers’ Defense?

During the 2025 college football season with the Nittany Lions, Dennis-Sutton racked up 42 total tackles to go along with 8.5 sacks, three defended passes, and three forced fumbles in 13 games.

Over his four-year career, all at Penn State, the defensive end totaled 127 tackles, 23.5 sacks, two interceptions, seven forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and eight defended passes. He was highly productive, which led to many thinking he would be a much higher draft pick.

Standing in at 6-foot-5 and 265 pounds, Dennis-Sutton has a great physical presence. From an athletic perspective, his numbers are off the chafts.

With former Penn State superstar Micah Parsons expected to miss at least the first few games of the 2026 NFL season, adding another edge rusher was a priority. Dennis-Sutton will help fill that void and could become an impact role player as a rookie.

Green Bay Has Had a Quality NFL Draft

Outside of the Dennis-Sutton selection, Green Bay fans have a lot of reason to be excited.

Gutekunst had done an excellent job of adding great talent at positions of need. He has upgraded quite a few areas that badly needed help.

In the second round at pick No. 52, the Packers were able to select South Carolina cornerback Brandon Cisse. He will have a chance to be a day one starter for Green Bay. At the very least, he’ll play an important role in 2026.

The Packers followed that move up by taking Missouri defensive tackle Chris McClellan in the third round, Dennis-Sutton in the fourth, center Jager Burton in the fifth, and cornerback Domani Jackson in the sixth.

Green Bay still has two seventh-round picks to make. However, the Packers have done an excellent job throughout the 2026 NFL Draft and Dennis-Sutton is a big part of that success.
