Already having one of the most well-rounded rosters in the league, the Los Angeles Rams had the opportunity to add an immediate impact player on offense in the 2026 NFL Draft with the 13th overall selection to maximize the window to win a second Super Bowl with Matthew Stafford at QB.
Multiple notable weapons were available for the Rams at the 13th spot, including Makai Lemon (selected by the Eagles) and KC Concepcion (drafted by the Browns). But LA opted to draft Alabama Ty Simpson, who can be an eventual successor to Stafford.
Needing another weapon for head coach Sean McVay and Stafford, one NFL writer names the Rams as a landing spot for a five-time All-Pro wide receiver.

The Los Angeles Rams have one of the best, or the best, wide receiver duos in the league with Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, but adding more weapons to a strong roster is never a bad thing.
All-Pro receiver DeAndre Hopkins recently expressed his desire to continue playing, albeit alongside Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals, which does not count out the possibility of him playing for another team.
CBS Sports’ Jordan Dajani created a list of which teams he believes are landing spots for Hopkins, listing the Rams as one of five options.
“The Los Angeles Rams expressed interest in trading for A.J. Brown this offseason despite boasting Puka Nacua and Davante Adams out wide. Now, they could pivot and bring in another veteran to help hoist a Lombardi Trophy,” Dajani wrote.
“Los Angeles put together what some pundits consider an underwhelming draft class, headlined by new quarterback Ty Simpson, who was selected with the No. 13 overall pick. The Rams passed on taking a top weapon like Makai Lemon or Kenyon Sadiq, so Hopkins would be a welcome addition for Matthew Stafford.”
Hopkins, who last played for the Baltimore Ravens, had his worst season with the team in 2025, hauling in 330 yards and 2 touchdown catches.
The wide receiver has failed to record a 1,000 receiving season since 2023, when he was on the Tennessee Titans, but a change of scenery could fix that, especially under Sean McVay.
Needing a clear third receiving option on the Rams, DeAndre Hopkins could have a strong role if he were to have Matthew Stafford as his quarterback.

DeAndre Hopkins has expressed his desire to play for the Cincinnati Bengals, believing Joe Burrow is one of the best in the league.
“He took his team to a Super Bowl early in his career, and I feel like he can get back there with a little bit of help,” Hopkins said, via the NFL.
Looking to win a Super Bowl, Hopkins should be interested in coaching Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford on the Los Angeles Rams.
Stafford is coming off an MVP season, defensive coordinator Chris Shula is returning for his third season with the team, Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson joined the secondary and more.
ESPN has the Rams with the highest odds to make the Super Bowl at +900. If DeAndre Hopkins wants to secure a Lombardi Trophy, going to the City of Angels will be one of the most likely places.
